I am curious if any of you Bible thumpers or Kuranaholics out there have ever read anything else to challenge your world view or are you so closed minded that you simply ignore any alternate view of reality.
Don't list any religiously anecdotal material either...like "How God Saved me and my Hamster" or whatever these are just rehashes of your current philosophy.
Can any of you explain the difference between a hypothesis and a theory? How about a brief explanation of relativity or super-string theory. Maybe even the meaning of E=mC2

Anyone is free to answer the question as I am curious what people are reading.
And the point with the science questions is to point out that there has been an amazing amount of scientific work done in the 100 years since relativity theory came onto the scene...much of which has deep philosophical implications.

1984 - George Orwell - great dude, a bit crazy though
Big Brother is watching you
Freedom is slavery
War is peace
Ignorance is strength
Thoughtcrime doesn't entail death, thoughtcrime is death
Freedom is the freedom to say 2 + 2 = 5
I LOVE that book! I suggest you read it.

I read the paper this morning. Oh, I once read the first few pages of A Brief History of Time. In truth though, the more I read books to 'challenge my world view' the more I believed in God and the truth of the Bible. I could give you a brief explanation of relativity - general or special? Super-string theory is hardly complete yet and E=mc2 is the consequence of special relativity.
Can you tell me who or what created the Universe? I thought not.
The evidence is inconclusive either way. Whatever your belief it is based on faith. So how are the "Bible thumpers and Kuranaholics" any different from you? You cannot PROVE anything. Surely your mind is just as closed whatever your view. Unless you are saying you haven't yet made up your mind yet, in which case you should maybe try reading the Bible or Koran....

I can explain the difference between a hypothesis and a theory being a man of science. I am also a son of God. (No, it is not a contradiction) If you are going to ask serious questions, you should be civil about it and exclude insults.
Also, I would like to see how many people, who are not Christians, could explain relativity or super string theory. Your question is flawed in its very origin by you being biased and insulting and demanding something from only one group of people.
You have your hypothesis. Now go through the scientific method.
Make a question to reach the people who can answer your questions about relativity and super string theory. Get equal parts of believers and non-believers who might be able to answer it based on the education. I'm pretty sure that you will need to revise your hypothesis. And by the way, the person who explained relativity believed in a God.

In answer to your first question, the following would apply.
My Utmost for His Highest
Discussing the DaVinci code
Ossians Poems
I am not closed minded and have a look at what others believe in order to talk to them.
If you want answers to the rest, a little time in the science class talking about scientific method will get the answers to the first question.
Reading Einstein's work will help with the next and the last.

Dude I am computer programmer and a state math team champion I can understand things that 95% of people can't. I read the Bible everyday. Just because I am Christian doesn't mean I am stupid. The last book I read was for fun it was the last of the Harry Potter books

Is this question only for the Bible-thumpers? I can't really tell if you want them to exclusively answer this.
Well, the last book I read was "Justine" by the Marquis de Sade, my lover from a past life. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to answer, I was unsure.

Hey there! In response to the answer you gave on my question...well I didn't bother reading it all because I noticed you called me a bible thumper. Now tell me, where in my question did I push my beliefs on you? Where did I quote the Bible? (which is a group of fictional stories that I in no way take seriously)
That's right....nowhere. You're the exact type of stupid Atheist I was talking about, thanks for proving me right!
