I've been chatting online to a guy now for a couple of weeks that I met through here.... Initially I wasn't looking for love or friendship just a cheap thrill (sad I know). I've told a couple of white lies early on, I lied about my name and my age, although, I'm not far off the age (I said I was 24 but I'm a bit older)... I'm not too concerned with rectifying these as I'm sure he'll understand.... the thing is that I haven't told him stuff like he ought to know and in my book that's just the same as lying.... I feel like if I tell him, I'm going to lose a best friend, but not telling him is making me feel so awful.... anyone else have a similar experience? What did you do? What was the outcome?
I really, really, like this person... as a friend and possibly more...please serious answers only....

OK... Basically I'm separated and have a 6 year old son and a baby daughter... I'm so ashamed of myself keeping them a secret... most men run mile when I tell them... so am very scared... I feel that he's being honest with me.... but I can't seem to reciprocate in the fear of getting hurt once again.... am I destined now for a life alone?

How long you going to wait until he either runs that mile or accepts you for who you are?
Of course you also have to decide if you want to "just keep having fun" or actually turn your feelings into a real relationship for at least a friendship.

It depends on how big your lies have been?
if it is along the lines of you telling him that you dont have kids when you actually do have kids or that you are single when in fact you are married then you need to tell him!
If its simple stuff which you probably wont even mention at all in the future then I wouldnt even worry about it but from now on tell the truth.
You say that you really like him but how can he trust you if you continue to tell him lies!
How would you like it if someone was doing the same thing to you?
Be honist and tell the truth otherwise you will lose him.

You're chatting on a computer...do you really think he is being totally honest?
"a best friend"? until you share real life experiences - in the physical world - you are nothing more than words on a screen.
Come clean - you really have nothing to lose.

i am currently chatting to a girl and have lied about my age, name and sent a fake picture. i mean no harm i just feel if she sees me for who i am she may not want to chat. i am thinking of telling her but then i might loose a good friend i might not say anyhting, i advise you not to say anyhting either. if you are getting on with someone why spoil it, you have to ahve fun in life, why ruin a good think. dont tell him contiinue to be the best of friends and enjoy your chat. dont feel bad everybody lies. good luck to yuo, follow your heart.

Tell him that you have come to like him so much tht you would like to let him get a little closer. When he asks what you have in mind, tell him everything. Truth is like the foundations of a house.

tell the truth otherwise he will find out somewhere down the line and the longer you leave it the more he will feel he cannot trust you. Honesty is the best policy

I have an idea for you.
Take some time off and when you can be honest with people, rejoin the world.

if he likes you as much as you say you like him he should understand after you have explained this to him. If he is a nice guy he wont have a problem with your daughter just explain your reasons n he will understand.

do this...
ask the guy casually as to wat he would do in a scenario in which you are... tell him that there is a friend of yours who is facing this trouble.... know his reactions on this....
once you know his reactions, you will be able to judge yourself better than anyone else in the forum...
you just don't have to reveal that it is you who is in this dillemma..... just for the sake of knowing his reactions you have to tell him another lie...
this will solve many of your problems.. this way you can even propose that guy.... just tell him that because everyone likes to talk to a person who is young, you have done like that.... nothing harm in it... if he likes you, he will like you the way you are...
don't worry be confident and go forward... it is never late to tell the truth......
