i never really gave religion much thought, and even though people have given me bibles before, i never read them. up until the last couple of years i've been a pretty hard partier, and now i just work alot and don't really want to be religious, but in the last couple of weeks it seems imperative i read the bible...i don't even agree with what im reading, and its slow going with all the begats and whatnot, but for some reason i feel i have to keep at it and get it done...even my super-dork bf is starting to make fun of me...what the hell is going on? (i have no underlying stress or problems, everythings pretty mellow)

Relax. Don't worry about this thing.
Yes, it's possible to be drawn into a religion unwittingly - if it seems to offer answers to problems in life; as people have said, there are more converts made by a crust of bread than a flash of light.
Your experience is a little different to that though, isn't it? You appear to be driven at the moment by a compulsion to read a famous holy book. They say cravings indicate a lack of something in the system, so maybe your subconscious is hungry for something deeper than the everyday life. Maybe (if there's anything to it) some spiritual entity is calling you to investigate that side of life. Or maybe it's just a curiosity bug that you have to scratch right now, to see what all the fuss is about. Either way, don't let it stress you out - just read what you feel you need to read, and see whether you then feel the ned to read anything more in the same vein.

If you're bf is making fun of you, drop them, if they can't support you they arent worth it. As a Christian I believe that God may be drawing you near him, and as a human I don't even agree with half the things in the Bible, but I do my best to live by it. Also remember that alot of the things in the Old Testament don't apply today. And keep this in thought if you decide to become a Christian, Jesus is not a religion He is a relationship, you have to have relationship with Jesus/God to go to heaven, you can talk the christian talk and display youre religion, but without a relationship, you dont have anything.
To become a christian you must admit you are a sinner and believe that Jesus came to earth and died on the cross for our sins and confess your faith to him forevermore.
Jesus saves, so here's my question for you. Will you accept his help?

Like any religious text, the Bible contains a lot of answers, but they may not be the ones for which you're looking... It sounds like your critical thinking skills are alive and healthy, so I don't think the Bible is going to "draw you in"/brainwash you (no more than you'd believe everything you read in any other book, right?). Your Bible-reading is culturally educating if nothing else. You're perfectly normal, you'll be fine.

all relegions in the world is having a scripture supporting that relegion as you have now the bible. But the last version of Gods reveletion is Quran asper universal accptance when talking about relegion. And relegion is a guidance for human to God and a life after death. If someone want to know about the fact, he should seriously searach in three basic method, firstly impartial approach to all relegious book and acceptance of truth., secondly believe in unseen explained in the book., thirdly workout , i mean excercise in our practical life what is prescribed in the guidance you got it from your efforts in search as a result of your great exploration to find the truth. If these things you can do and dedicate yourself then let me to say that you will never be in ashtray in this earth or the life to come after your death too.

yes, it's called getting sucked into a cult.
don't fall for it. you don't need that crap. just live your own life, if you're not happy, don't turn to the hocus pocus bulloney in the bible.
