I still though i'ts the other way aroud. Most guys are with someone younger (males brains always think like we're stil 16). even if only 3 to 5 years. But, if a guy finds a girl/woman who is 4 to 8 years older than he is, she is more staable than the yger girls and closer to her secual peak (about 32 for women - a LOT younger for guys). Of course, when one is 55 and the other 65, it may not seem as much a difference. Men usually don't live as long, so a woman with a guy 8 years older, is gonna be alone a long time. I think some really like it that way. I've heard once was enough, or "I don't see myself gettig married again," after 2 pretty good marraiges.
Do what you think and feel is right.

Well... one reason to answer the _why_, perhaps because women live longer than men (about 6 or 7 years, on average) as far as I know, so... it's normal to not want to outlive your partner.
But I don't think there is such a trend. Unless of course the interest shown is in _very_ young gals, in which case it is not ok, because an older man can force his way on a girl. An older woman needs to attract the man first, she cannot apply brute force, as in the other situation.

I thought it was the other way around. Usually it is the rich old men with the 20 something. But I have hope that if my husband and I ever divorce I will meet a younger man because my friend is now married to a man 10 years younger then her 33 and 23 respectively, gotta love it and all the power to her. (Anyone male or female screwing with a minor is a perv, just to set the records strait)

Actually it's more like the opposite. An older man with a younger women is often perfectly accepted in society and it's seen as a symbol of status for a man. But an older women who dates younger men is often seen as disgusting and a spinster.

"But not OK for older men to show interest in younger gals"?
Who said it's not OK?!? I must not have gotten that memo!
As long as she's over 18+ who cares if she's younger, older, or the same age. Just date who you'd like to...

There isn't an issue with that. My sister is 32 with a 24 year old boyfriend. I think it's pretty brave of him considering that she's just got out of a messy divorce which has left her with three kids. You want a woman who is mature and know what they want (I don't mean sexually). You seem the type to want to settle down early but you could just wait a while until you're in your late twenties and see if you're interested in women your own age then.

It is OK for both the genders to be interested in opposite gender irrespective of age. It is the matter of heart what it says. However human beings in their younger age are comparatively more attractive then their old age so it is natural the interest goes their way.

at some point it isn't good for either gender to have an "interest" in younger members of opposite gender. i am 54/m and like younger women to 18. i also like older women to 99. the only ones off limits are too young, regardless of gender.

It depends on how far apart by age they are. It seems worse for older men to be with younger women because it makes them seem like pimps!!
