As I recall, Jesus choose his apostles. The significance of why Jesus selected them. He was searching for traits and skills (and loyalty) that would assist him with his earthly mission.

No apostles were chosen by God. The New Testament says that only Jesus choose His 12 disciples. Have I answer your question?

God didn't chose his apostles. Jesus chose his. God is Jesus's father.
