You know I'm so sick of the illegal immigration debate that this is what it's come down to for me, take it or leave it. U know America is suppossed to be so understanding of everyone's plight in the world that we're expected to do all we can and it's great that we do that, HOWEVER, for us to be sorry about wanting to secure our borders in a 911-world is unconscionable. Do not twist a security issue, and a population regulatory issue, into one of American disdian for our southern friends. Don't forget there are also Irish, Italian, German, Polish, Chinese, Cuban, Nigerian, Spanish, English, Korean, Portugese, Indian, Japanese...immigrants who also want to come here.

I see it as they are stealing the place of people that are trying to do it legally. How far is that.
After visiting Mexico, Isee it as a dirty, unkept place and that seems to be the attitude Mexicans take with them when they come here, (NOT all I know) leaving parts of LA littered and nasty, peeing in public it's just nasty. I didn't like Mexico at all. I wn't want to live there, but how is coming to the states and treating it like your own land making it better. I've gone two to different spots in Mexico and it just appears that the people just have a lack of respect for where they live. I think it's Ironic many come here and end up cleaning houses.

What's ruining this whole situation are the morons we put in public office. They smell votes so they go against the masses. When people think closing the border they think Mexicans. The people who think that are retarded. It's not just Mexicans coming across you fools.
What's stopping terrorist from walking into this country carrying a dirty bomb? Nothing. People are stupid.
If some terrorist cross the border all these morons who are pro illegal will run to the border carrying bricks on their backs to build a wall over night.
Wake the hell up. Immigration has been an issued for decades you think they're suddenly doing this to keep Pedro from picking berries for your dinner table? Sheesh what sheep you people are.

It blows my mind that in a country of immigrants, people can be so xenophobic. Some of the posts here about "dirty" foreigners honestly make me sick to my stomach. Does no one understand that acceptance of immigrants was one of the things that made the United States so great? Escaping poverty and oppression for the land of freedom and opportunity: that's who we are. To go around complaining about all the foreigners ruining our country is hypocritical at best, ignorant and racist at worst. We RELY on immigrants not only to maintain our economy, but to define our national identity. Closing the borders will not deter terrorists, but it will effect our economy, and in essence, contradict the principals that America was founded on.

This anti-immigration issue is so stupid. The local news reported, last night, that some oranges in Florida won't get picked this year because they don't have enough of a labor force to do it. One state government invited the INS into their state to hunt down illegal immigrants. One month later these same officials asked them to stop and leave, they were hurting their local economy too much.
By closing the Mexican border to Hispanic workers we are shooting ourselves in the foot. It makes me wonder if the Bush government isn't trying to destroy our economy. This whole issue about illegal Mexicans is someone’s personal agenda, just like our invasion into Iraq was. ”Georgie Porgy” was just trying to finish Daddy’s war. Ninety-nine percent of the illegal Hispanics are just trying to make a living, and they are happy to do jobs that Americans don’t want to do. If we don’t let them in to work, tell me are you going to pick the oranges in Florida? Do you want to? Would you like to work in a fast food place, or mop floors as a janitor, or be someone’s maid? Somebody has to do these jobs and we have people who are willing to do them. But, instead we are hunting them down and trying to get rid of them.
Do you really think that a terrorist is going to walk for two days across a desert to get into this country? They are going to use their network to get forged documents, and fly in on a commercial airliner. We have tightened our US borders, but we cannot make them airtight. Not even the USSR had airtight borders.
The only way that these Hispanics are stealing from us is when they don’t pay taxes on the little money they earn. So give them a legal way to come into the country and pay a reduced tax rate. Then let them come and go so they can live with their families. A lot of them are coming to America just to raise money for their families.
So how do we handle the problem of those that are staying in this country illegally? Well we don’t need to hunt them down and deport them as possible terrorists. We do need to integrate them. Either put them on a Guest Worker program or give them an expedited way to become a US Citizen. Make them learn English, and make them learn our history; half of them have kids that are doing it in our schools anyway. Then we can make them accepted, productive, and lawful tax paying contributors to our society.

more than half the area where I grew up was filled with stinking illegal russians, porkcHops (portuguese), Polacks, germans and all the European trash you can ever imagine. All working and living here illegally and collecting welfare for their stinking euro trashy kids..Also commenting how easy it is to rip off American gov't after comming from communism!!
