First, get some orange hair wax, and some crimping rods. You don't mention how long your hair is, but if it is at least an inch this will work.
Wash your hair, slick it down with hair gel, the brown stuff works the best, I believe its called prostyle gel. You could also use a setting lotion. Brush hair, and then rub a dob of hair wax between your hands. Apply the wax, and brush hard. Put the crimp rods all around to make waves. The closer they are, the tighter the wave. Blow dry with rods in place, When hair is dry, take out the rods and the waves should be in. Smooth them down,
Those would be regular waves. But natural waves would sort of require you already having them. However, For my son, if your hair is short , Simply apply pink oil, or donnies softening lotion at night. Brush in the direction of the waves from the top of head.
Apply a wavecap before going to bed, and sleep in it so as it won't slip off. In the morning, remove the cap, and your natural waves should be in place.
You can keep them in by repeating this procedure every or every other night.

you need a great brush (stiff bristles)and the makin waves hair grease. apply the makin waves, add a little water to the brush and brush in the direction of the wave pattern. apply the wave scarf.
remove the scarf later on and brush your hair. start brushing from the top of your head and brush forward. always in the same direction. At night put the wave scarf back on your head and re-do the steps in the morning.
