Yeah. I'm a med student, and my class is filled with relgious folk. The fact of the matter is that most doctors tend to be religious in some form or fashion. Eh. I used to be a researcher (bio) and I find it very difficult for someone to do bio research and still deny things like evolution. They can still believe in a god, but fundamental principles of their religions are in-turn deemed "flawed." And to the first dude who answered your question, evolution does exist and is very possible. I cause evolution on a daily basis in my labs, and it is absurd to think it can't exist. The math backs evolution, and so do the studies of just about every known biology based research experiment in the last 30 years.

The human body is absolutely amazing in its intricate functionings and how everything works together sub-consciously and perfectly (for the most part).
I think it causes some doctors to believe that evolution isn't enough to create such intricate networks and processes and that a higher power might be the creator of such genius.
PS -
iamjaycee below me writes: "It has been proven that when sick people have been prayed over, or for, their recuperation seems to be quicker than those who weren't. That was on 20/20, or Night line, not sure which. "
Actually, that's been contradicted by a more recent study on heart patients, some of whom were prayed over and some whom were not. Only some knew they were being prayed for while others only knew that it might be a possibility.
The prayed for group of patients actually had MORE complications following surgery than the ones that weren't prayed for.

I'm in optometry school right now! :) As many others said, the more you study the intricacies of the human body, the more difficult it is to believe it was a haphazard chain of events that led to the formation of these things. I understand that evolution exists but do not believe it was responsible for our creation. When you look at all the processes of the human body, I don't know how it's possible to believe someone did not have a hand in it.

When I studied biology, I became convinced of God's existance. Evolution just doesn't make mathematical sense.

I would have to say absolutely not. Not in the strictest sense anyways. The big bang goes right out the damn window when you study evolution. But actually some schools are taking that out of curriculum's. Isn't that great??

Many do. Many believe after taking the biology classes that did not before.

Yes.
While Biology shows how things work, it does not explain the meaning behind it all.
We humans seem to have a deep seated need to know the "meaning" of life. This is a very strong calling most of us experience and pursue. The closest most of us have come to an explanation for it is God.

I know some of them do....both catagories that you mentioned. My third daughter had an emergency surgery, and the surgeon came to me afterwards and told me God had to have had His hand in all of this because he had no answer himself why she was still alive! It has been proven that when sick people have been prayed over, or for, their recuperation seems to be quicker than those who weren't. That was on 20/20, or Night line, not sure which.

The more one studies biology, the more you come closer to believing there is God.
