This is my personal view with limited source. Anglican is a branch or sub-branch of Protestan. According to certain encyclopedia, there are three main sects of Christians teaching namely Catholics, Protestan and Orthodox Christians.

The Anglican church is the state church in England. When England went around colonising the rest of the world, the church followed and established Anglican (English) churches in these new colonies.

It is a particular style of church worship that centres on a book of common prayers compiled by some Reformers in 1662.

Practically, the Anglican communion has forgotten about prayer books and doctrine, and you can do pretty much whatever you like. They are more opposed to the church dividing than to whatever brand of revolting heresy certain churches teach.

Anglicans are a Canadian offshoot of the church of England. Its halfway between roman catholic and presbyterian or baptist.

Are you referring to Episcopal Church, or just and British
Christian?
