I'm just curious it seems theres a female that might be right for me but I just need some form of reasurence before I dive head first with a little more clarity than I already have. So what I'd like to know is who has had a succesful online romance? how did you meet(messenger, Chat, ect.)? How long has it lasted?

Well, Well, I must admit, that I had to meet a few toads before I actually encounter a real prince, but..so far it has been successful. 6 months and counting. Met him on-line, on a dating site, but the thing is we were friends to start with and now he is my best friend and my lover. Good luck with your romance, and remember that heart break and romance can go hand and hand, you can find either one on-line or across the street. Its the person, not where you find or meet them at.

I met the love of my life through on-line personal ads, but the romance wasn't on-line, it was in person. He only lived 5 miles from me. I've arranged face to face meetings (hey, let's everybody from the room meet at H_____ Beach next Sunday!) with chat room people, and made friends with some, but no romance.
I'd say it's possible to MEET someone on-line with whom you may later develop a romance, but I don't think I could really feel serious about someone I rarely or never saw in person. You can't hold hands via IM.

My husband and I met on Yahoo Games nearly 5 years ago.
We met in person 6 months later, and got married 2 years ago.
It's not easy if it's long distance, but it's possible if you are a good match and both are commited.

I have met alot of great men. But most married. when I found out I cooled it. I called it off. But I have friends that have met their husbands and boy friends on line. It can happen to you as well. It has lasted some for years. Sooner than you know. You don't have to meet them in chat rooms. Go to pogo, com lots of great games and great people. Pem

ABSOLUTELY!!! If I had not tried the online dating thing, I would have NEVER found the man of my dreams. Match.com was my source. PERFECT MATCH in our case! I have NEVER been happier in my life and I would recommend it to anyone who isn't afraid of finding true love in a "different" kind of way! Good luck! Hope everything works out for you two!
