People are phobic of anything out of ignorance or true knowledge. Most people do not know the foundations of Judaism which are firmly established in the LOVE and FEAR of the MIGHTY ONE, the ONE LORD, the EMPEROR OF EMPERORS!!
As a Muslim, I can vouch that it would be an honor for me to be called a slave of Moses, although Moses may not accept me as I am a lowly man not worthy of being his slave. It would be an honor for be to be considered the slave of a slave of David or Jesus or Mohammad!
These are lofty men! Men who toiled in situations when simple people like me will be totally overwhelmed and would have given up -- these are great men who fought against heaviest of odds with the help and permission of the Mighty ONe and established the Worship of the Almighty on this material earth of a being so subtle that even gravity is too crude for comparison, but ultimately ALL POWERFUL!!
As a Muslim I have been taught by my Prophet to honor the great ones of Israel, to love the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL, and to FEAR THE MIGHTY ONE, the GREAT LORD, who some call YHWH, some call ALLAH, some Call HaShem and some call God, but He, Almighty, is indeed above all names, as all names came after language was created which was created after man was created, who was created after the animals and plant kingdoms and the earth, when the MIGHTY ONE IS ETERNAL!!
Before even a shadow of our existence was created HE WAS, IN All His Splendor.
SO, fighting about the name of the LORD is naive. In short, those who are ignorant fear. THE ONLY ONE TO BE FEARED is our own works and actions, as the LORD MOST HIGH IS FAIR and WILL JUDGE US, if we do not seek his MERCY. BUT, Mercy is there for the asking!! We need to make use of His Mercy so our wrongs are righted by His Powerful Hand!!
I hope I am making sense.

People often fear what they do not understand or what they perceive as different or, primarily, what they have been taught to fear. And, as I am sure you are well aware, Jewish people have been scapegoated and persecuted throughout their long history largely because of unsubstantiated claims.
This is why I think that a basic understanding of the various cultures and religious traditions, along with interfaith dialogue, is so incredibly important in the "global village" that we live in today.

Because they were God's original Chosen People, and as such, Evil powers wanted them dead, so that the prophesies could not happen...but Good will prevail.
I, for one, love Jews!!!
