She just doesn't believe. Some people believe that when they ask for something and God doesn't deliver right away, that he is non-existent. Maybe she wanted something so bad from God that when he didn't give it to her that she stopped believing. Or it maybe the fact that your family isn't really strict about raising you under your beliefs. If she was raised completely as a Mormon, and all she'd ever practiced as a belief was being a Mormon, then she'd probably believe. No one really knows why people choose or choose not to believe in God. Do you? Nothing may be wrong with your sister. It's just how she is. I am a Christian, but I wasn't raised as such. My mother said she believed in God, but her actions proved different, up until about four years ago. I don't know why I chose to be a Christian. Everyday I pray that my faith is real. Your sister chose not to believe in God. Ask her why. Accept her answer. Move on. Try and help her if you feel that it is necessary. But that also means that you will have to help yourself as well. I hope my answer helps you and doesn't confuse you.
Take Care.

God gave us a choice when He created mankind; He gave us freewill to worship and believe (or disbelieve). By non-practicing do you mean no Bible study? How old is your sister? Generally questioning the existance of God comes around mid-teens, but also effects adults of all ages going through personal crisis.
Be patient, God will reveal Himself when the time is right (2Thes 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.)

I can certainly tell that you are religious. You rely on others to tell you what to think about this whole thing.
Distance yourself from the problem and use some logic and reason. You can even change the scenarios (the particular religion for one) and come up with a rational and consist philosophy. You can then apply it to other things.

i dont think so one bit. if your family doesnt follow the religion so much and practice it then she has all the right now to believe. i go to church with my family almost every single sunday, yet for some reason i drifted off from believing also. you could try to convince here, but i would not worry about it

Sometimes people just dont know how to relate to someone who they have never seen, and sometimes it just takes time, it is not wrong, but you shouldn't just sit by and watch this happen, if you are a christian you will try and lead her to the Lord.

That is fine. It means she is showing signs of thinking for herself. This is a good thing. You ought to try it, too.

Just let her lead her own search. You can't convert someone. You just leave the door open.
