My mom calls it Apple Crisp, and she doesn't use raisins. You could easily add them, though. She makes this ALL the time, so it's a tried and true recipe.
Ingredients:
Crisp Topping
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup Quaker Oats - not the instant - regular
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown (well compacted) sugar lite or dark
pinch salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon allspice
3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks) melted
Apple Mixture
5 or 6 Granny Smith Apples medium to large
4 Tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 lemon, juice only
Mix together all of the dry ingredients for the topping. Melt the butter. Drizzle butter into dry topping mix. Do not overmix, just until crumbly. Set aside. Preheat oven to 350°
Into a bowl put lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon. Peel, core, slice and dice apples into the bowl. Toss as you go. Now dump apples into rectangular well buttered pan, about 9x14. Push apples into a relatively flat layer. Now cover with the crumb mixture. Try not to compress this layer. May have to mound it up a bit in the middle but make sure all the apples are covered.
Bake @ 350° for about 45 to 60 minutes, until apples are tender and top has browned. Serve warm [I suggest with vanilla ice cream].
Hints: Grannies are so large that if you use 4 of them (which fits the crumb mixture better), you will need the bigger pan - 9x9.

There are many good ones out there, but I like to use apples, very thinly sliced, dot butter, sprinkle with sugar, add whatever else you like, raisins, nuts, etc.; then I sprinkle with about 1/3 cup of oatmeal, cover it with mixed flour and sugar and cinnamon (sorry I don't really measure, probably 1/2 c flour and 1/2 cup sugar and about 3 tablespoons cinnamon, just keep trying to see the right consistentcy and flavor to your liking); then I drizzle about 1/2 cup of melted butter over the top and bake it until the sliced apples are tender. Just make sure you make the slices very thin, and experiment with the dry versus the liquid that will bake off of the apples. ... took me a few tries, but excellent when you get it right.
