I was discussing religions today with my father and we got stuck on the differences between each different section of christianity.

Does anyone know a good site that tells the difference between say Baptist and Methodist? Catholics and Episcapalian? What about a site (I know not Christian) about Judiaism?

Thanks.

Even within the same religion, one sees differences in spirituality. Even with the life of the same person, within the same sect, one sees differences of spiritual stations. Differences are in the nature of things.

In broad and simple terms in my study Monotheism has existed from the time of Adam. Abraham began to formalize monotheism by settling at the confluence of three continents at the order of the MOST HIGH, as through that place the GRAND MESSAGE could be sent out to all parts of the known World. Moses the Grand Master of the Laws brought in the laws of Justice and instituted in the community of the family, community and ultimately nation that originated from the family of Abraham.

A line of guides of Israel came and established the laws firmly and fruitfully. When Justice was firmly established in society of the monotheists (the Jewish people were the only monotheists at that time), then Jesus was sent in the lineage of Abraham to establish Mercy as a higher concept. Justice is good, but mercy is even better.

When the teachings of Jesus were somewhat misunderstood and under the fear of the cross and Roman brutality the basics of monotheism began to get lost, then the Lord raised another son of Abraham from the lineage of Ishmael, whose name was Mohammad, who arose and established monotheism once more in the land of the pagan Arabs.

He single handedly turned all of his Arab compatriots not only to accept Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus as their elite and leaders, but also gave them the energy to propagate this truth to the nations around the World. Remember that the Jewish and Christian folks had existed for 2600 and 600 years respectively, but monotheism was getting tired of fighting the Persians and the Christians were unable to move the message of Abraham across the barriers of the Persian emperor.

Now monotheism and the grand names of the representatives of God Almighty such as Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, Mohammad and others are well known.

Sects and differences are in the nature of man. People are different, they wish to see their will and wish come true. Ultimately in my personal view we shall see unity across humanity, but the level differences will exist, as each person makes their spiritual journey to higher and higher planes of knowing the MOST HIGH LORD!!

No, but I can tell you some of the differences between Methodist & Baptists. Methodists don't have a Creed [a specific statement defining them] Baptists don't dance, it is to intimate and are not supposed to listen to provocative music. Methodists dance & listen to whatever.

An excellent site for learning about Judaism is myjewishlearning.com

I go there all the time and believe me, it has everything you could possibly want to know.

By the way, I think it's wonderful that you and your father can discuss religions together.

Good luck!
