i'm so confused. Me and this guy from my school have been talking over the internet for maybe a month now. I felt sorry for him, so i kept replying the emails he sent. I never really knew him much and i never talked to him at school either. But today he sent me this email. It said that he now likes me alot. He also said at his other school he liked this girl and told her, but it didn't go well at all. He said when school starts he'll tell me in person. But i don't like him!! I just felt sorry for him!! How do i break his heart without being too mean?

Just tell him you think of him more as a friend, AND DON'T lead him on if you don't like him as anything more.
BE HONEST. It ALWAYS works out for the best and you won't feel bad about it later on down the road.

OMG!! That's the exact same thing that happened to me! Except mine was over the phone. Just say something like, "Look, ur a really nice person. I mean ur (say some things u like about him, or that he wishes u liked about him) and any girl would be lucky to date u, including me. But I just can't right now. I'm sorry. We can still talk online if u want, though." Then go into small talk so there won't be any awkward silences. Hope I helped, and if I didn't ... SORRY!!

If I were you, I'd tell him that I would feel awkward changing the friendship into something more. Tell him it wouldn't feel right, like it just would not be the same. Feel free to compliment him here and there... Maybe you could add something like "overcoming this obstacle has only made our friendship stronger". That would be sappy. Anyway, if things get too awkward you should have a back-up plan. For example hire one of your guy friends to pretend he's dating you. I really wish you the best of luck.

Just tell him you like him as your friend and you will be grounded by your parents if you will have a boyfriend! It is no longer your problem if you turned him down,email him directly that you are enjoying your situation now without a boyfriend and you focus on your studies and change your email address and tell your friends not to tell that you have anew email address!Ignore him,do not entertain him anywhere!He is not a big lose!

It's always the best of intentions that become misinterpreted. While he may take it hard at first I would suggest dealing with it quickly lest he carry on in his misunderstanding. Say something like "I am not really ready to be in any relationship" or "let's just be friends" but be sure he understands you don't reciprocate his infatuation.

let this be a lesson to you that when you talk to people on e-mail you have to be careful. be honest and direct without being demaning. let him know that you do not feel for him in that way. The lesson do dothings likethat out of pitty they will always get the wrong idea.
