To each their own.

You sound like my MOTHER. Thinks money grows on TREES!!!

Why waste all that money on expensive kids clothes!

Garage/yard sales RULE! So does Wal*Mart, Target, JC Penney, Sears etc.

First let me say this: IT IS A PROVEN FACT THAT WELL GROOMED WELL DRESSED KIDS GET MORE ATTENTION FROM THEIR TEACHERS!!!
That said I agree with both of you. I like the name brands too and mostly that is all I dress my kids in. But I buy alot at resales store, garage sales, goodwill and on ebay. And I have a 7 and 4 yr old who are close in size (7 yr old is small, 4 yr old is big) so the stuff can be used 2 yrs in a row. Except jeans because they always get holes in the knees but I am also very careful of how I wash (spray n wash). I do buy some of their clothes at the actual store and agree with you the quality is better. I do like Target though and will occasionally by a t-shirt at Walmart. Old Navy (to me anyway) is name brand and you can get some really good deals there! Kohl's is also good but only buy when they have a big sale or it is not much cheaper.

I agree with your friends. Do you really think that your baby is going to know the difference from gap to kmart? This is the first step in making your child to grow up into spoilt a brat, thinking that they can have anything they want on command.
By the way, cheap stuff doesn't fall apart as easy as you say. I have bought cheap clothing, and have found that some actually outlast the expensive stuff.

You are crazy..."cheap" or rather inexpensive kid's clothes do not fall apart too easily. Children outgrow their clothes before they can wear out. If you insist on getting brand names (which by the way are usually made by the same factories that make the "cheap" brands), try going to garage sales.

Kids ruin their clothes to easily, why pay $35 for a shirt that they stain with spaghetti sauce ?? Yard sales and thrift stores are great you can still get the name brand but for 75% cheaper. Also try the kids resale stores like Once Upon a Child.

first off cheap stuff doesn't really fall apart that easy. I buy all my sons clothes from walmart, and I have never had anything "fall apart". and no offense or anything but I think its CRAZY to spend all that money on clothes for kids that they will just outgrow hella fast and 2 will get dirty. but hey if you have the money GO FOR IT!! lol me on the other hand i will stick with Walmart!! ha ha

There is nothing wrong with buying cheap baby clothes. I have bought most of my little girls clothes at Wal-Mart and I haven't had any problems with them falling apart. I have even handed most of them down to friends.

I happen to agree with you, and the resale on these brands is great, I make plenty of money selling the used clothes to buy new :)

That's nice of you to want to have your kids dress nicely, but you can find high quality clothes that aren't brand name. Also, kids outgrow clothes so quickly so you might want to think long term about this clothes thing.

Cheap kids clothes are alright. They are going to ruin them anyway. If you want to spend $50.00 on a pair of jeans for your children, I hope you can afford their clothes for them when they grow up. If they have expensive things now can you imagine their teenage years. they are only going to want the " best of the best ".... I hope you have the money to fork it up then !!

Best of wishes !

i like quality, but dislike the high price tags. this is where ebay comes in. if you are ebay savvy, you can buy all top-quality kids clothes brand new with tags for a fraction of the cost!
