Now the question is, do you like some of them? If you do, you can choose which ones show.

Tools | Options... | View | Formatting Marks

You can choose from Tabs, Spaces, Paragraphs, Hidden text and Optional hyphens or any combination. Since I work with other people's documents frequently, I keep the Paragraphs and Spaces turned on all of the time (it helps to see where they use spaces for tabs and an extra return to space between paragraphs).

You could have done one of two things.

(1) You could have pressed that paragraph symbol right next to the zoom box. If that icon is highlighted, simply click on it to turn the feature off.

(2) You might have gone into page layout mode. To switch back to normal view, click on the View tab, then hit Normal.

Try #1 first and if that doesn't solve your problem, then do #2.

there's a icon like a the other way of "P" in your toolbar, click it to turn it off.
