I used to have problems with the wire coming out of bras that I washed in the machine, but a woman in a lingerie store told me to wash the bras in a lingerie bag, one of those mesh bags sometimes used to wash sweaters, and don't put them in the dryer. I've had no problems with the underwire poking through when I wash them this way.

Yes, put it in a lingerie bag. Or, if it's a front loader without an agitator you can just wash it plain.

p.s. use woolite on gentle cycle, cold water

I bought my lingerie bag at a grocery store. But, I have also seen them at bed, bath, and beyond.

I throw mine in the washer with mild soap and cold water. Then I dry them on a rack.
