The brail buttons do not indicate product. they represent the letter and number for each selection. If you were to compare the buttons on a vending machine to those on the ATM machine they would match. Yet I have never withdrawn a bag of Dorito's from a bank machine.

Why do they have brail in most places? How many blind people have you seen walking around the halls of a building looking for the brail under the door numbers? They don't do it. Usually, they just ask someone where room 215 is, or where the bathroom is. But I think that it is a law that requires this to happen.

The whole point of the Braille buttons is so that users who don't have sight can tell what is inside the glass.

Maybe they should add more buttons to people like you who are too obtuse to realise it.

I'm shocked that you can actually tell the difference between a vending machine and a wall, what with your IQ and all...

It isn't funny at all. Vending Machines in public places are usually owned and operated by Business Enterprise Program (BEP). In association with the Social Security Administration the BEP trains the Blind in operating their own business. The businesses by federal law include Cafeterias in government buildings and vending machines.

Since the owners of the vending machines are blind, the buttons include braille.

Not stupid at all.

maybe some people like to be surprised when they get something from the vending machine and if you know what you're pushing, you'll at least know you're getting something

They can tell what's behind the glass if they feel of the buttons
