Look, the only way to know the true Jesus is by reading the Bible. Reading the Bible will help you fingure out who the true Jesus was. Anything you hear from other people, like the stuff that's in that one movie, "The Davinci Code," is a bunch of lies. The only truth is in the Bible. Pick it up for once.

Jesus himself told Nicodemus "ye must be born again". This is simple. Just thank Jesus for dieing for you on the cross and ask him to forgive you for all your sins. This is a free gift of salvation so no man can boast that he is perfect and doesn't need forgiveness to enter heaven. When you do this, Jesus through the Holy Spirit will begin to revile His self to you and the more you seek him the more he will revile. The Bible says " seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.

Study the teaching of any religion which teaches about Jesus. Then compare which of the teaching that makes sense to you or that is more logical or that touch your heart. As far as I know only two main religions teach about Jesus that is Christians and Islam.

Other belief system (not all) especially the Philosophy type also talk about Jesus but normally criticize him and other just say he never exist.

What a wonderful question! There is no higher quest.
As with any person, the way to get to know them is by spending time with them.
If you already believe, spend time and get your focus on him.
If you don't believe yet, keep seeking, asking and knocking. The Bible tells us that if we do these things we will find, we will be heard and the door will be opened.
Read the 4 gospels. These are the original source documents.
Find other people that know Him. Many talk about Him but a few people know Him and spend time with Him. It shows. You can tell.

Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. And read His word. Start with the New Testament for now(the book of John is an excellent place to start). Then get some good teaching from a Bible believing church.
