Yes he is getting enough sleep but are you getting enough "down" time. I put my 4 and 7 yr olds to bed at 8 pm. I so I can have a couple hours peace to read, watch tv, answer questions (lol). You should have some time in the evenings for yourself and/or you and spouse.

My child goes to bed about 8:30-9 and gets up about 7-8. Takes a nap about noon-1. Sleeps for 2-3 hours during the day. Try to put him to bed earlier and then maybe he will wake up on his own in the am.

My sons are not that age but, i have a 21/2 month old and last night he slept from 10:30 til 4:45 in the morning, then was waking up at 6:30 but fell back to sleep & didn't get up til 8:30. He usually falls asleep around 9-10 p.m., but he took a late nap last night. My other son is 3yrs old and he goes to bed at 9p.m. and doesn't get up til anywhere from 7-9a.m. He then takes a nap at 3p.m. and doesn't get up til 6:30. I think that's kinda late but kids know how tired they are so if he's still asleep then i let him stay asleep. I think that your son might be getting enough sleep but i would try moving the time around. I would suggest to start winding down for the night around 8-9 (depends on you), then get him ready for bed, and hopefully gradually he'll learn to adjust. If i see my 2 month old still alert around 9p.m., i get him ready for a nice warm bath, long enough to get all the talking and smiling out, then put on some pajamas and give him a nice warm bottle, and he falls asleep so good there's no rocking or trying to put him to sleep, he just falls asleep by himself. Well i hope you try this, and GOOD LUCK!!!

Children at this age should still be getting 12 hours a night with a nap in the daytime. My kids have always gone to bed at 8:00 and gotten up at 7, with a nap in the afternoon. You are asking for problems if you deprive a toddler of sleep!

There's no magical number of hours required by all kids in a certain age group. Two-year-old Sarah might sleep from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, whereas 2-year-old Johnny is just as alert the next day after sleeping from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Still, sleep is very important to a child's well-being. The link between a child's lack of sleep and his or her behavior isn't always obvious. When adults are tired, they can either be grumpy or have low energy, but kids can become hyper, disagreeable, and have extremes in behavior. got to this site for more:

Yes, with the naps he is getting plenty of sleep. It sounds like you have a good sleep pattern going for your child ( the AMOUNT of sleep is more important then the TIME ) so don't worry you are fine. Childern that age need about 8 at night and a little nap during the day. Trust me your child will let you know if he needs more !!!!

I dunno about that age, but my son is 4 months old & we put him to bed around 8:30-10:30 every night depending on when he gets his bath & stuff. He doesn't sleep through the night yet though so I'm not sure it matters what time he goes to bed LOL I'm sure that's enough sleep for your son. If it wasn't he would let you know. 12-13 hours is pretty good for anybody including small children. If you feel it isn't enough try to get him into bed a little earlier.

Little kids need a lot of sleep. I used to put my daughter to bed around 8pm and she would sleep through the night. She is now 9 yrs old and she still is in bed by 9 on a school night and 10 on the weekends.

If you need to get to sleep earlier and don't want to be up that late I say you should geet him going down earlier. If it doesn't bother you-let him stay up.He's almost 2 so I say start putting him down earlier. If he is having a hard time geting to sleep at night stop the naps.I had to do that with all 3 of mine.I am the same way.If I even nod off for a few minutes I am up all night.Habits started this young will stay with them all their lives.

it sounds ok as long as he gets used to it. my son is 7 months old he has a two hour sleep during the day and by 8.30pm he is in bed and doesnt wake up again until 6.30 in the morning for another bottle. i have put him into this routine so i get two hours to clean up or rest during the day and i get all the sleep i want at night. i work this around his feed too.
