SQUARE FACE
(straight hairline; angular jaw; wide face)
Your hairstyle should work to soften the sharp angle of your jawline and minimize a squared-off brow look. Hairstyles that emphasize the cheekbones mid-line of the face are most flattering, so short layers (cut into longer hair) that swing foreward onto cheekbones will look great. Bangs and waves at the temple also soften the square of your face. Hair length is best about one inch below the chin, or extending to shoulder length, to reduce and soften the squareness of your jaw. Hair worn on the forehead is always perfect for you, as long as it is wispy or fringed. Never wear straight bangs. Hair turned under at the bottom also will narrow the width of the jaw. Styles in loose curls and waves add extra dimension to the square face in a good way. Styles that round out your hair can decrease the appearance of a square face shape, so adding curl, angled or wispy bangs, and a few wisps on the cheek area will all help. A cut that allows for some height is also a good idea. Wear a side part as opposed to a center part.

I have a square face too and I finally have a hair dresser that ROCKS! Shes a tight friend too so I trust her. She told me any hair style that is close around your face and has height at the crown will lengthen your face and compliment the shape. I've found several styles since that when I follow thoes guidelines my hair always turns out great!

See how its straight on the sides and stays close to the face, but has some height on top? Thats generally what you should stick to, but a lot of styles can be adjusted to fit this.
Also find a good stylist who is going to take the time to not only cut your hair but to help you learn how to style it and teach you how to use the proper products to achieve the style you want. You can have the cutest cut in the world but if you cant make it look right its of no use to you.
Good luck!

bangs look best with square faces because they help round it out just a bit... on the website below there is a picture of Paris Hilton with her hairstyle (she has a square head) only of course you could have your hair straightened and it would still look fine. good luck!

ok i guarentee this can help!!! lengthy and narrow, about the same width at forehead and slightly below cheekbones. ought to have an extremely narrow chin or an extremely intense forehead. attempt short to medium lengths. Fullness on the aspects of your face. delicate wispy bangs. you ought to stability the look of a lengthy and narrow face. delicate wispy bangs will shorten the visual allure of the dimensions. Fullness on the aspects of your face will upload width to the look of your face structure. by employing slicing the hair right into a short or medium length, the outline of the reduce also will shorten the look of the dimensions of the face. Layers artwork large at the same time with your face structure, as they are going to upload softness to the immediately lines on your face. attempt part aspects, and also you're able to placed on immediately decrease back kinds. sidestep To a lot hair length . . . your face will look even longer! too a lot height lengthens your face. middle aspects. even as your hair receives previous your shoulders there's a strong possibility that is doing you extra harm than strong. The fashions with rectangular face shapes and lengthy hair, get by employing with it in ordinary words because they have a "on call" hairdresser who's busy primping and teasing, placing and styling to characteristic fullness to the hair. on the grounds that maximum individuals don’t have this luxurious, my advice is keep it above shoulder length.

take some pieces of hair on either side of your head, but not the front pieces forming your face, right behind that, and pull them back together with clips. It'll make it a little more rounded. And it'll be really pretty too, and it allows you to use really pretty hair pieces as well. :)
