to add specifics as some have asked for.
Nations rise against Nations. More natural disasters etc. Now they are mentioned in the Bible but the question is not wether they are true in your opinion but which would you say it is?

A lot of major events that have happened in the last few years were predicted throughout the Bible. In the Bible it talks about the 'last days' before Jesus' return, and the signs that will show when the last days are happening, and those signs have been and are happening at this period in time. Some of these events and signs are 'natural' disasters and war.
We are living in the last days right now, Jesus could be back any day, week, month, or year.
Nothing's a coincidence.
But if people trust in God they've got nothing to fear.

The early Christian founders had to throw in the restoration of Israel, without it they wouldn't have gotten the Jews on board, everything else is nothing more than what was already happening at the time written large. Remember that early Christians thought that the events of the Revelation were going to happen in their lifetime, that Nero was the anti-Christ, and that the world government spoken of was Rome. The restoration of Israel had less to do with God and more to do with heavy firepower, the same thing that is keeping it intact today. If I say someone will day on Oct 10, then, on that day, I murder him, does that mean I'm a Prophet of the Lord, blessed to see the future and work His will? People said the prophecy was coming true as a result of the Great Fire in Rome, they predicted it in the year 1000, in the year 2000 (remember the Y2K hysteria?), and they are predicting it now. Psychics have been predicting that California will sink into the sea for over 50 years, they've been predicting that Atlantis would re-rise for longer than that, isn't it time we let go of prophecies and acknowledge our responsibility to make our own destiny?

There have been wars and natural disasters throughout human history. They are inevitable. Predicting that they will happen in the future is not prophecy. It is common sense.
Every generation has had prophets claiming it was the last days before the end of the world. They were all wrong. So are those who say the same thing today.

The events of today are certainly Bible prophecy...
Isaiah 10:33-34 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled. And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

There have always been prophets. Some of today's events were prophesied in the Bible, loosely. ie wars and rumors of wars.
But I don't think we are capable of accurately interpreting the prophecies as they are written there, much less applying them to any specific time in history.

I like to think that they are prophecies from the bible, of course they might now be. My dad always thinks that they are. Not really a way to know for sure. There is never really a way to know. Then again, coincidents are just that.

The instances which you mentioned are natural phenomena and even we know that nations fight nations. Natural disasters occur ever since history was recorded. e.g Volcano eruptions, Earthquakes, floods etc.
Have you heard of Nostradamus? Some people have great powers. Nothing unususal.

The events today are prophisized in the bible.
Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

If you continue to read your Bible as you obviously have you won't have to ask you will know. I don't feel that anything that the Bible has mentioned as signs of the conclusion of this system of things are coincidental; I believe they are what they are; and life is what it is. What I mean is that Jesus told his disciples on Mt. Olivet what things to look for, and he also told them that they would know when this system was at it's conclusion by these things. So to me it is quite obvious these things happening are not mere coincidental!!!...
