If anyone abuses your God , you get upset and start abusing him in return. Do you think a superpower like God really needs your help in clearing his name? or its just your ego that gets hurt?

Not hurt or offended by stupidity but you are right when you say God doesn't need our help.

First, no one can help God as God is the most powerful and doesn't need anyone's help. It is actually the opposite, that is human beings are the one who need God's help.
From Muslims' perpective, if someone or a group doesn't believe that there is God, then that is the person's belief system. Muslims will try to explain their belief system if requested but Muslims will not abuse that person without a valid reason.
However, a Muslim is required to protect his religion (not God as God doesn't need protection). A Muslim need to defend his religion if others insult or mock his religion.
If someone made an insulting remark on Islamic religion, then it is the duty of every Muslims to defend their religion by giving explanation to the person.
If someone physically attack a fellow Muslim, then it is the duty of another Muslims to defend the Muslim who is being attacked. In Islamic teaching, all Muslims are considered as brothers and sisters.

God, the superpower, can not be defined to be called as my God. So, it was actually my definition of God that was abused.
Its ego for sure. Actually, I and the person abusing 'my God' are the ones who need His help to empower us to respect each other's God.

It is only a man's faith and ego that hurts.Because god is nothing but our faiths put together.Whenever our faith or ego is targeted we retort.That is what happens because in today's world many are not able to differentiate between their faiths and egos.That is the reason for all blind beliefs and holy wars.
