i just got mine today
and i noticed my tounge is kindda dark on the side

It will be bruised, swollen, have a clearish discharge in a few days that may last for a few mos (your body will try to reject the forieign particle, i.e. barbell)
You will expierence discomfort, esp. while eating. Just follow the guidelines given by your piercer. If you are not sure how to follow those guidelines call your piercer.
It's perfectly normal....Don't be worried.
