I'll be a junior this coming up school year, and I've been thinking alot lately about what's going to happen after graduation. As much as I want to be out of the house, and on my own, there's a part of me that wants to stay for forever. Since the day we were born, we've depended on our parents, friends, etc. and when we graduate we'll be on our own, and in a way we'll have to learn how to live again. We'll have to get used to everything we need not practically being handed to us. We will have to work, and support ourselves, all on our own. Not to mention alot of friendships will be lost, as we all move on, and grow up. It's sad. These are the people we've grown up with. I'll get to my question now. How many of you guys that have already graduated, stayed in contact with friends? How many friends? And to those of you who haven't graduated yet. How do you feel about it?

I was relieved to graduate. I love college. I keep in contact regularly with two people from high school. Try not to see it as sad be happy that you're growing up. High school is just a part of life. You move on from it and you take the memories and the friends that you want. The friends you actually stay in contact with after the first year of college are most likely your true friends. Try to think of this way you're very much like a hermit crab. Hermit crabs get too big for their shells and move on to a new shell. You're maturing and you need to find a new shell to wear. It may not be comfortable at first, but trust me you'll get through it and realize it was for the best. Growing up is a part of life. Don't fear it embrace it. (Yes I know it sounded very Oprah like)

i graduated like a month ago. i really dont talk to many of my friends that much, they are all too busy (as am I) it is important to keep an open mind.....you will make new friends wherever you go. take my advice: get out of home while you can. even if you want to stay and you love your parents.....it is not worth it. you need to be an adult, you need to get out or you will never leave.

Long distance relationships take effort. It just depends on how important it is to you. Be persistent. Send emails. Join Myspace. I've kept in touch with the people that were close to me in highschool.
