Muslims have a choice whether or not to die. They choose to kill themselves, but murder others in the process.
Christian martyrs have no say or choice in the matter. They get murdered by those who oppose their Faith.

Paul was an example of a christian Martyr. He was executed for his faith in Jesus and the "way". Many died and were martyrd after him with the catholic church killing many just for simply not agreeing in the diviness of the Pope, or even that the wine of the Eucharist was Jesus blood.

Look at the Islamic Martyrs, they killed many on the planes and in the WTC. They were martyrd because of the extremist view that dieing while killing zionists (non muslims) was the way to go. They gave no choice to those innocent people. It is impossible to have any respect for these criminals, therefore their views on religion mean nothing.

Islamic Martyr dies for the muslim religion and Christian dies for defending the faith of Jesus. The Holy Bible plainly says that believers will suffer at the hands of un-believers, some will pay with their lives. But so many are taught that they must always 'turn the other cheek" when this is simply not so. There is a time to turn the cheek, and a time for violence. Jesus used violence to run the marketers out of the temple. Plus, he said "I've not come to cancel the law, but to fulfill it. Well if the law says there is a time to kill and a time to heal, and if it says an eye for an eye, then there is a time to turn the other cheek, and a time to fight.

A Christian is martyred when someone else takes the Christian's life. One person dies.

An Islamic person (Muslim) is martyred when he/she takes his/her own life along with as many other innocent lives as possible. Hundreds or thousands die.

A Christian is martyred when someone who who does not agree with the message kills the Christian.

A Muslim is martyred when someone does not believe in the message and so the "Islamic" person kills himself and the "unbelievers."

A Christian has martyrdom inflicted upon them.
A Muslim inflicts martyrdom on himself.

All make God weep with sorrow; how heavy is His heart to witness centuries of atrocity done in His name. Many Christians have martyred by killing others, many Muslims have matyred by being killed by others.

Did you know Allah comes from the same root stem as the Hebrew El ("Great God"), and is the name Aramaic Christians - one of the oldest surviving sects - still call God?

According to the Koran, Jesus was a prophet - and a very honored and great one - but not the son of God. Many fundamentalist Muslims (not the mainstream) interpret certain passages of the Koran in a very extremist way.

Ultimately, however, a "Christian" who orders war on civilian populations, or stands idly by during massacres can claim to be no better than a so-called suicide bomber. At the end of the day, we all still answer to God.

It appears that the major differences would be the reasons for dying. As a professing Christian, I don't go looking for opportunities to kill myself and say I've done it for the Lord. At the same time I do not shy away. I love the Lord, and if that costs me my life, then I know that to "live is Christ and to die is gain (Gal 2)." My death would be gain because I would be with my Lord, but while I'm here on earth, my mission is to glorify God in all things. Islamic martyrs seem to be dying for the sake of dying. I don't want to sound hateful, because I want these people to know the Lord too. But does it really make sense that a god would send his people to earth to committ murder while taking their own lives? Does all of this make sense?

Islamic martyrs get to enjoy the company of 72 women who were too ugly on Earth to get laid. Christian martyrs just kinda get forgotten.
