Because they can and no one calls them on it.
Actually, it's only the Christian lunatic fringe that bash scientific research and most of them are the ones that try prayer and other old wives tales remedies when their children get sick and then the children die.
The majority of "real" Christians are accepting of scientific research for medical purposes because God gave the scientists the ability to do the research to provide for humanity. SO they're not really being hypocritical.

I do? Tell me how I have done that? Is that I hate abortion or evolution? Or do you think I don't have a head and eyes and cannot see the terribleness of the abortion pictures. Or that evolution has never been proved and never will be, it's a theory not a fact.
You call those things research and I don't. I call abortion a sick practice and I call cloning Hyman's way of trying to do something they shouldn't. Free will comes with responsibility.
And I have personally never blown up there labs. That's not the way to direct someone to the right path and think those who do are part of some crazy cult. The way to do it is with love and understanding, not blowing stuff off. But I still don't like those things and could tell you why...but it's rather late in the USA...and time for sleep...so goodnight!

I guess you don't know about Christianity, It's not about scientific research or technology. God give us the knowledge that has brought us this far. He created us! Let me see, here's how it adds up, I'm a christian, that makes me a child of God, which means I'm aloud knowledge, and you know what else non-christian are aloud too. You know why? Because the Lord rains on the just and the unjust!

Ah the ever continuing struggles to not categorize and stereotype. I honestly support scientific research and study. Its fascinating educating and profitable for mankind. I have a deep rooted sincere faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in medicine if your hurt and faith when medicine fails. Basically to answer your "why"? Cause those products work.

Whoa, talk about making generalizations! Especially when many of the most famous scientists in history were Christians themselves!
Some Christians, like myself, happen to respect the research that the scientists do to make our world better.(and not just the religious ones)

The same reason "atheists" and "agnostics" use the products... and you can look at the planet for 5 seconds and "see" the "results" and "consequences" of the brightest and wisest thinking and research man has to offer....
The ozone is shot, the corral reefs are dying, disease is killing billions, nations are still at war... global warming, pollution, dying rain forests...
The earth has been razed to the bone..... By our BEST thinkers...

something funny about this. before benjamin franklin discovered that lighting is electricity and invented the lighting rod churches were always getting hit by lightning. Churches explained this as the Devil trying to destroy god and religion, they didnt realize that the churches were the talles buildings around. so when the lighting rod was invented they could choose faith or science. faith would be to pray it wont happen anymore science obviously means lighting rods. they chose science

Ignorance...
All science is from God... Thus, all science is good.
What most do not like is the misuse of science. man has been mucking about with science for so long and now all of mankind is suffering for it. We all could be living in peace and plenty if man's greed for wealth and power was not abusing science
