It depends on your viewpoint because some people think that there's less ethnic strife in S. America because the natives were mostly assimilated by "marriage," and not interned permanently on to crappy Indian land. Even in Australia, the natives were assimilated.
And so, you must define success -- assimilation (S. America) or annihilation/segregation (North America).

you need to think, look at the indigenous people living in south America, their land were not wiped from under their feet, and they
still have natural habitat, but native Americans in North America now are drug users, they had their land taken from them, I think south Americas colonization was much better, Spanish people did scrwed the women, but thanks to them we have a very diverse culture, not some boring corn bread fed culture, we have aroz con pollo, not Hamburger or pizza, typical American food,,,lol

South America is more tropical,, that means more insects to spread diseases,,, North America has more climate changes like Europe. Europeans where better suited to North America.
