My mom makes me clean the litterbox even though I got to go on vacation for like a month. If I don't clean it, my kitty takes a doo doo in the house and my mom blames it on me! Help!

Go to PetCo or PetSmart and look for automatic litter boxes. They're boxes that use scoopable litter and clean themselves. They're quite cool.
If you can't go that route, pay a friend to come over and clean your kitty's litter box while you're on vacation.

Even a self-cleaning cat box needs to have the dirty litter receptacle removed and replaced, and fresh litter needs to be put into the pan! Unfortunately, pet ownership is a big responsibility and a lot of work (with 4 cats, 2 dogs, a horse, 3 chickens and 6 goldfish, believe me, I know!). If you go on vacation, maybe you could offer your Mom a percentage of your allowance to have her keep the cat box clean. Good luck.

I'm like all the other responses you have gotten. If you have a job and are going on vacation for a month, have a friend come over and take care of it for you and just pay him or her for helping out. Or take it to a kennel and see if they have boarding and keep it there till u get back. But that is an arm and a leg to do that. So, its best that u pay someone to take care of it while ur gone on vacation. Think about it at least u'll know its being took care of.

If you have a pet, it's your responsibility to clean after them. That's part of the territory. Your mom is 100% correct. If the chore is too much for you to handle, then you should give the cat to someone who can look after it. It's very much like taking care of a baby.

Your kitty is really going to miss you if you are going to be gone for a whole month!! Who's going to take care of the kitty while you are gone? Could you like get someone to empty the pan and take care of your kitty while you are gone?

Ask if a friend can come over and do it while you're away. I'm sure your mom will understand while you're gone and probably do it herself. There's a pretty neat thing somewhere online that you can train your cat to use the toilet...but it'll take a while to train him.

Cats are very clean animals..when you go to the bathroom and have a choice of a clean toliet or a dirty one..which one would you pick?? I hope and pray you pick the clean one!! So does your cat..If your not gonna be home have a friend or get a self cleaning cat box!!
