In Vietnam we killed more of the enemy that they killed of us. And guess what? We lost big time. Now tell me again how we are killing more of the enemy than they are killing of us. Any idea when we will lose Iraq?

the answer is simple we are killing civilians in fact we are rapeing 14yr old girls and then killing her and her whole family that is how we are killing more of them and we will loose the war because of a few facts

#1 bush and his cronies lied about WMD's

#2 when you have so many human rights violations by your soldiers to prisoners and they are dumb enough to take photos of it you are destined to loose

#3 when you rape and kill 14yr olds the hatred that the people have for you is inflamed

It's funny, in another question you stated that they were killing more Americans. Good job on consistancy. Anyway, during Vietnam, the Americans were up against an orginized military with Russian backing. They also had an organized and unifed political sturcture as well. The American forces were forced to fight under politically motivated guidlines which made victory all but impossible.
In Iraq, the insurgents have no organized military or chain of command, No backing from an industrialized nation. No unified political structure. There is also much more infighting between insurgent and terrorists groups within Iraq. The American military, while still under strict ROE, are still able to exercise a flexiblity they could not during Vietnam.

We'll lose when politicans make us run away because the public is screaming. The insurgents are not dumb people. They know they can't beat us militarily, they are fighting us specifically because they are trying to influence American public oppinion so that we will cut & run. The anti-war movement in Vietnam limited the scale of that war & that limitation caused the war to go on twice as long & kill many more thousands of people on both sides. If we leave Iraq early it will force regional ethnic-religious civil war that we'll ultimately have to solve & will cost us tens of thousands of lives in the process of what really should be called WW3. Try thinking things thru a little past what you see on TV in the short term.

It took a while, but everything that we wished to achive in Vietnam is coming to pass. Increased personal liberty, capitalism is on the rise, and they are reaching out for a place in the international community. It just didn't happen on America's one hour-minus commericials impatient time schedule. This can be applied to our involvement in SW Asia.

Only if we act cowardly and back out. We only lost because some of us lost the will and courage to actually use the resources necessary to win.
