Our universe is finite. What would be the use of an infinite God? Why bother filling up all that nothingness?

Any god that is limited by nature is not a god, for a god should be bigger and stronger and more capable than the universe that he created....Thus, if our universe has been created as finite, it only makes perfect sense that our creator, God Almighty, is strong enough and infinite enough to create it.

Does the logic fit???

Actually, He's infinite, because He existed before the existance of Time. Time only came into being with the creation of "our" universe. How could he be mortal if He is not effected by Time which is just a creation of our universe, which He is not?

What would be the USE of an infinite God? Lol, to ponder, love and worship. To get to know Him better and better, and appreciate Him more and more. Wow, what a privelege it would be.

Why fill up the nothingness? To glorify Him. Easy. This is ALL to glorify HIM. The entire Universe exists as His creation to show the ability and example of His art. The Earth is just a Footstool to Him, and will one day be restored to Paradise. It won't remain the way it is now.

If you were a true scientist or student, what would you do with an eternity to study?

The universe is finite? Thats a new one. Makes sense, though. An infinite God wouldn't make a universe that was equal to or greater than Himself. Wouldn't that be a paradox? Just thinking out loud......

Our universe is finite? Really? How do you know that? Have you personally been to the end of it? Or are you relying on the opinions of scientists and philosophers? Have you been brainwashed?

I am not Christian, but my God is infinite. Far beyond our limited and finite human comprehension.

Think you made a mistake when you composed your question. Allow me to re-write it for you and maybe, just maybe it will make a little more sense to you.

You wrote, "Why is the Christian God infinite"?
You should have written, Why is God infinite?
Sound better already. You know there is only one God, the I AM that I AM.

He is infinite. Without beginning or ending. That just how I like it to be and you should too.><>

How ought to God be countless..I propose who created Him..and this is in simple terms about continuously a being with the most proper appendage! As you nicely recognize there is not any God! If there have been then there had to be one which created him. technological expertise is the in basic terms thanks to understand the truth about how the universe became created. And, for sure, we've not had time to respond to each and every of the questions, yet evolution is surely shown by genetics and Stephen Hawkings has made it fairly sparkling that we do not desire a "best mover" to have the universe. faith is largely a waste of time. Morality and ethics do no longer count upon obeying some fairytale in the sky!

"Our universe is finite." Source?

No sucha thing as a "Christian God". God is God of us all.

How do you think someone of finite intelligence can understand God who is infinite?

Can a painting understand it's artist? Then, how can we, the creation, understand our Creator? Other than what we know of Him through Sabean, Noah, Abraham, Krishna, Moses, Buddha, His Holiness, Jesus, Muhammad (pbuh), the Bab and Baha'u'llah?

Well if God created the universe, and the universe is infinite, wouldn't logic dictate that God is infinite?

You have edged into semantics. Therefore, you must explain your definition of finite and infinite. Depending on your definition, an answer becomes possible. Your question, as stated, is just spittin' in the wind.

Don't think that is reserved for Christians, but who is to say the universe is finite? Some theories postulate many universes. Billions of stars in our galaxy, billions of galaxies in the universe, billions of universes in the??
