IF they're not the breathable contacts that you're supposed to wear, your cornea (the clear covering of your eye) doesn't get enough oxygen. You'll actually start to grow blood vessels in your cornea to supply it with enough oxygen. Eventually, this disrupts your sight and gives you some killer red-eye! So, don't wear the contacts more than you should (about 12 hours per day)!

It depends on which ones you wear. There are some contacts that you do not take out of your eyes at all. You were the day and night, and sleep in them. After 30 days, you change to new contacts. Just talk to someone educated on contacts and the types they have. They can help you far better than I can.

Ok, I got contact lenses and I wear them pretty much all the time. My eyes did get red around the pupils once and it didnt feel to good. But I just changed contact solutions and I haven't had trouble since. I'm supposed to take them out every night, but I only take them out ocne a week or so. And I'm fine.

I've heard that too and I've been wearing them for 10 years now. I've heard that they can dry out your eyes more and depending on what type you use they can get build up of various types of residue.

My eyes were getting irritated by my contacts last year. I then switched to daily contacts which are a bit more expensive but worth it. My eyes still get tired though so to balance things out I am really trying to make more of an effort to switch to my glasses when I get home at the end of the day or to wear my glasses on the weekends.

I've been wearing contacts for almost 6 years. Nothing bad has ever happen. Just take proper care of your contacts.

girl i have had them since last year. get the acuvue advanced kind. you dont feel them at all. just remamber to take them out at night or your eyes might swell up and you might be rushed to the hospital. whatever you do use optifree solution and not renue because renue is giving people eye infections. trust me it has happened to two of my friends. if your car is a convertible then wear sunglasses when the top is down and your contacts are in because your contacts might dry up.

p.s. choose me as best answer i really need the points.

i wear contacts... i wear the ones you can throw out each night... but if you don't clean your contacts regularly, it'll cause an infection... try wearing your contacts from say, 8am-6pm and then put your glasses on... this will give your eyes a break and they won't be a strained... also, don't sleep or shower with your contacts in.. those too can cause infections

It will scratch your cornea when you try to take them out, causing serious pain, the necessity of wearing sunglasses for weeks, and permanent eye damage. With everyday you leave your contacts in, you increase the risk of infection and ultimately that can lead to blindness.

Your eyes need oxygen. If they go with out it for too long it could be damaging to your eyes. They make lenses now that allow oxygen to go through so it keep your eyes healty for longer wear.
