Read that; you never know who you'll be sitting next to in a meeting.

People will tell you to try different meeting, that's like telling someone to try a different McDonald's if you don't like the food at one.

Many predators find the rooms to be prime hunting ground, 13th stepping dates back to Bill Wilson, and usually is given nothing more than a nod and a wink.

If you are mandated, try to find a woman's meeting, if not, check out other support groups or methods. If you can't find a face to face meeting, consider online support.

I don't know the why of your attendance at an AA meeting, and I don't need to. However, something says you need to go somewhere for help....maybe just not that particular meeting time and place. Pick another meeting at another time and place to go. The Program doesn't work for all. No program does. However, that program is the most successful of those that are out there.

Before you condemn the whole group, give it some time. If, after going to 7 to 10 meetings (remember not the same one you originally went to) and staying after a little to ask questions or just hang, you still feel weirded-out, then find a counselor certified in Drug and Alcohol treatment, and talk with them. You need someone to actively listen to you and hear what you have to say. You are not ONLY 22. You are an adult, and it's a scary world we live in. It's dangerous for anyone. I wish you good luck in finding just what you need to help right now.

The nasty side of AA is never discussed. It's like the big pink elephant in the middle of the room that everyone walks around and tries not to look at. Now, us Mental Health Clinicians tell our clients about the 12steps. But, we rarely tell them about the "13 steppers." Those are the ones that are the major pervs that get a kick out of hugging every woman in the room, really rubbing her back and pressing her chest into theirs to get a good feel of their breasts. As graphic as that sentence was, it is absolutely true. Plus, there are those that come to AA because their Probation Officer makes them, or else they violate their order. Shopping for the perfect AA family is almost like looking for the perfect boyfriend. It takes time, and perhaps a few visits to different meetings, at different times and locales. If you like the steps of AA and really heard the message at the meeting, and the fellowship, then I suggest you keep looking for a meeting that you are comfortable at.

Just for today .....stay away from AA
do same tomorrow.

If you are forced to go I suggest you keep a written journal of all the bad, crazy, perverted stuff you see there, then, make copies and send it to the judge/employer who sent you there. If that was your first meeting I would have to say you're lucky you got a heads up on what it's all about.

it fairly is thoroughly comprehensible and good to have somebody say that yet i think of it is not genuine. something you do no longer comprehend or which you're no longer waiting for is evil when you consider which you failed at it. that's what happens to those that say that. perchance it may even have been somebody who grow to discover ways to declare that to inspire others to sense an identical way, you comprehend as attempting to set an examples. Many Christians often do this. i'm sorry yet people who do that are fundies that have faith that each and each physique which count is what they think of and that they own the main suitable actuality. the main suitable rigidity, greater capability or besides the fact which you go with to call it it fairly is gonna shop you sober is your will and for this reason you have been given it. you will do no longer something in case you do no longer go with to. whilst a individual's concepts's made up there is not any longer something you're able to do or say to alter it. we are unfastened will beings, it sucks in some circumstances yet it fairly is how that's and that's the sole way wherein we can laern from our rights and wrongs.

Some are sicker than others. You are going to AA for you and to get help for yourself. Try going to a different AA meeting, get a sponsor and talk to her.
If this keeps on, call 911. You do not have to take this.

Hello,

That must have been very akward for you. Sorry about that, i know it wasn't me, but i just needed to say sorry for the pain for your friend and yourself.

Well i would think so, if you must go to just a meeting, i would advice that you go with a friend. It is safer that way.

People have freedom of actions on earth, and what goes around comes around. What that person did to your friend someone else wll do the same damage if not on hell, when he dies. the punishment is far more worse.

Take care of yourself and your friend

There are better alcohol-dealing strategies than AA.

God does NOT have all the answers, or at least, not all the answers involve God and praying blah blah.

I think that it is very dangerous, you need to be extremely careful and maybe go with someone or see if they have another location where it is held!
