Since vishnu is generally regarded as the preservative aspect of the triple hindu godhead (along with sodium benzoate) (yes there are millions of mini-aspects, but 3 major ones Brahma-creation Vishnu-preservation Shiva-destruction, and there are female sides to each of these too but look it up yourself) Vishnu is probably going to be a good guy. Of course, change is necessary sometimes. Like now. so maybe not.

Vishnu is the aspect of God which maintains the Universe. As an operator he has to keep the energies in check and see no one goes against the subtle spiritual laws.
so for any religion, Vishnu is a friend if we are following the correct spiritual progress. If we go against the laws of maintenance of Universe, be would look like a foe
He is neither Friend nor Foe... our own karma decide how we would interact with Him

Vishnu,(from the Sanskrit root 'vish',to pervade)is the second god of Hindu 'Trimurti' and as the preserver of the universe represents mercy and goodness. He is said to be the cosmic ocean Nara, meaning water, which was the only thing in existence
before the creation of universe. For this reason he is known as Narayana, or "one who moves on the waters".
Vishnu-friend or foe? It depends on our deeds.

Another name for God.
You decide you are a friend of God or not.
As for God I doubt he cares about what you think about Him. He is not a petty , and jealous or insecure who needs to prove himself.
According to the Bhagavad Gita:
"I am alike to all being."
"None is hateful or dear to me"
Your Karma will decide your future, this birth or next.

God is always a friend, whichever name you call him.
After all, He is God. Not a petty , patriarchal father worrying if his children fear or obey him or not. He does not need to threaten anybody to establish his authority.
