I note that in this section, Christians (not all) like to talk about Communism and other varying political views, but Communism is really villified. Do you not understand that Communism in it's purest form is direct Democracy? I don't get it guys. Have any of the people that are knocking it read the Manifesto? (no I am neither Communist or Socialist, but I fear religious fascism more than I fear either of those)

I have read the Manifesto, and own two copies of it. I guess that makes me uninformed.

Simply put ... because much of the propoganda regarding Socialist and Communist philosophies from the 1950s and 1960s is still present in the modern U.S. thinking.
Philosophically, Communism is the ideal situation ... unfortunately it falls to pieces due to corruption, just as Capitalism eventually does.

I am a historian, and have read the CM. However, I think most people look at how many millions of people were killed by commies in a very short period of time, and it causes them to think that it really doesn't work very well.
Actually, communism is capitalism taken to its logical conclusion. There are only about four Marxists in the world who believe it will EVER work.
The only way for it to work is for every world government to completely deregulate their economies, and let capitalism totally take over, until the whole system collapses. That is the way communism was outlined by Marx.
Direct democracy would suck anyway. That's why the Founding Fathers of the USA didn't adopt it.

Hmm nice question. You have to see that the west is a christian democracy socity. Now the west has not like the likes of such communist counties for ages and ages and the west has set about a bad spin on communism. People are more likly to think of communism as the likes of thoose empires that did evil to there people etc etc. Communism theory is diffetent on the other hand, true communism involves that everyone has a fair share of the pie as to say. That every one has a fair voice etc etc. In an idea comminist country there would be no crime, no employment etc etc but as many people said it is not in mans or womans instest to be sharing and this greed will always but a bad light on comminism.
How a more instesting question to ask christians on communism is, Is Gods heaven a comminist or democracy state. For God is the only rular in it and I can't see any one having a vote in his kingdom but in this kingdom all is shared and alight.

I agree with you to an extent. I prefer to say Communism is the pure form of Republicism and Anarchy is the pure form of Democracy.
I tend to think that the Christians on here refer to Communism so ignorantly because most of them are also blindly patriotic (not that it's wrong to have pride in your country, just keep an eye on those running it) and Communists have been our country's biggest enemy for the past few wars (up until this new "War on Terror").
I personally think the best government in the world would be some sort of balance between Communism and Anarchy. Problem there is that the two are complete opposites and should a country attempt to rule under such a title, it's likely to collapse on itself.

I have read the Manifesto and I am not a communist but when communism is actually put into practice it is brought down by the corruption and greed of people, communist nations are always characterized as evil, especially during the time of McCarthyism. Communism theoretically works, but it relies on people and people will always be corrupt and greedy.

any ism or ideology is always dangerous , an idea is good by ideology is disastrous. ism is trying to impose on people at the cost of humanistic values. communism is for eg. if a man is having 100 cows , grabing 99 cows from him and distributing it to other. any ideology is like a sign board, it can only show the way. it can never help a person volentrily accept it. only a saviour can bring freedom to any human being.

Socialism is the most advanced system by far, but society is not ready for it. Once all the primitivism is eradicated socialism will be the only choice. Note that all those who tried that system were way ahead of their time and that’s why it didn’t work. And I do think many people don’t even know what it is but have only heard about it from western propaganda (they demonise everything they don’t like).
