I'm interested in doing a bit of research on the Pagan religion. What beliefs do you follow? I'm also interested in Tarot. Well, I honestly have a lot of questions, any information given would be nice. Also, if anyone can IM me or email me, that'd be great. My contact info is on my profile page.
Thanks!

As someone else answered, there isn't only one pagan religion, but many. I suggest looking into different ones to find what interests you and what doesn't. I am a Celtic Reconstructionist. For a description: http://paganachd.com/faq/index.html

For a good article with links about all different Reconstructionist paths (Greek, Roman, Celtic, Germanic, Egyptian) http://www.thetroth.org/memsvc/stewards/flyers/benw/reconflyer.pdf

For a good article about modern Druids. Also has links to Druid organizations:

For a good site about Wicca:
http://wicca.timerift.net/index.html

For articles about polytheism: http://www.manygods.org.uk/articles.html

For an excellent forum that has practitioners of all different pagan paths: http://www.ecauldron.net/

Hope this helps. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions--I may be able to refer you to a good site/book to get started.

There actually isn't a Pagan Religion. There are many different religions that all fall under the term "pagan" and vary widely in practice and belief. Some examples are Wicca, Hellenismos, Kemetic religion, Religio Romana, and Asatru. I'm a modern Canaanite polytheist with reconstructionist leanings- the religion is also known as Canaanite paganism or Natib Qadish (Holy Path).

I'm not sure what direction you're looking to go in with your paganism studies so it's hard to know what sort of information you're looking for exactly. I'm around if you'd like to chat on IM sometime about tarot or pagan religions.

Modern-day pagans usually have their own custom belief systems. This does not mean 20 inch rims and vinyl flame decals. This is a good thing, since every person has their own unique angle from which to see Truth. Generally it involves acknowledging (though not necessarily worshipping) deities from traditional pantheons (Greek, Nordic, Polynesian) On a higher level, almost all believe in a dual male/female godhead, and many believe in a one divine source above that. Sort of like a prism splits sunlight into lots of different colors. On a lower level, many pagans are also animists, believing that almost everything is inherently alive in some sense or another and has an awareness (though not necessarily a thinking consciousness.)
As for tarot, that goes into the collective unconscious, archetypes, and all sorts of other fun stuff, but the basic idea is that the part of you connected to god/dess/ the earth/ spirit already knows the answer to the question, but the rest of you is thinking too hard to listen to that little voice. So you trick yourself into learning what you already know.

Pagan is not a religion it is a classification for certain religions. The word actually means country folk. (from england) I practice Native American Spirituality. It is classified as a pagan religion.

One excellent source for information on Paganism and Wicca is www.witchvox.org

It also has local listings of groups and other people who consider themselves Wiccan/Pagan.

Wicca is an earth-based religion that worships the Goddess and God and all of nature around them. Personally I have found Wicca to be fulfulling to my soul. It is a joyous belief that brings us close to deity and teaches us how to live magically, spiritually and wholly attuned with Nature.
