Jesus speaking to Nicodemus in John 3. Jesus very clearly lays out the way to Heaven through Him. He also very clearly states that without Him, the "wrath of God" awaits.

That's a hard question. I have been reading the Bible since I was a little kid. I guess learning that Jesus died for my sins is the most impacting thing I've learned. Also, knowing I have the Holy Spirit within, and that God directs my every step, is something that has really revolutionized my life, and the way I live and think.

But I can honestly say that when I read the Bible, I keep learning new things. There is so much in there that when I reread something, I often find further meaning and metaphors that I never realized before.

Num. 31:7 And they [the Israelites]warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.

8And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

9And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.

10And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

11And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

12And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.

13And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

14And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

15And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

***17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.***

I never get tired of posting these verses. Moses, under God's direct orders, killed all of the Midianites except for the virgin girls, who were kept as sex slaves. Imagine all those young girls, probably no older than 15 or 16, seeing their families brutally butchered, and then being taken into slavery for the rest of their lives. BibleGod made no move to stop this repulsive behavior and never so much as reprimanded the Israelites for it. It is obvious, from this and many other passages, that Christians worship a genocidal, raping, murdering monster--and that, more than anything else, convinces me that Christianity is an abomination.

Life changing lesson.

Learning about Abraham and his life. He wasnt perfect, far from it in fact. The lesson learned was that GOD doesnt use people who think they have it all figured out.

God uses those of us who do not feel we have it all figured out, because we are open to submitting ourselves to him, even when we screw up, we learn our lesson and get back on the narrow path, and God can use us to teach and help others again and again and again.

I learned that GOD can and will use little old me, without being a person of worldly importance or learning.

Really, it wasn't any specific part for me. I read a book called "The Bible: God's Word or Man's". It was the realization that it actually IS the word of God that was life changing for me.

Somewhere in Exodus it reads: "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk." This has revolutionized my culinary skills.
