Don't be afraid to dye it!! The products out there are good. Maybe you could convince your Mother to do it or at least have her hairdresser introduce you to color.
Yes, there are shampoos out there that have a color pigment added and in particular the lighter colors that I have noticed. Check the shelves of your local drug store or even beauty supply stores in your neighborhood to see if they have darker versions.
You can't go wrong as this stuff is not permanent and also have excellent conditioners added to keep the hair soft.

Do not dye your hair-they all have ammonia and peroxide(even the dark colors)and eventually your hair will feel like straw, be damaged and you'll have to cut. Try the Frieda Glaze($10.00) for brown hair or you can go to a health food store or a Beauty Supply Store and you can ask for Henna-a vegetable / herb dye-no ammonia or peroxide -Cleopatra used it so its been around for a long time-use the Bark Brown or Earth Brown-will wash out in 6-8 shampoos but cheap-approx $3.00 and since it doesn't damage can use every 2-3 weeks and the more you use the more color stays I use every 3-4 weeks and get many compliments. Henna also conditions-adds shine to your hair.Be sure to wear gloves and although you mix the henna with very hot water-let it cool before you put on your hair-wrap in plastic wrap and the use blow dryer to add heat-but do not get too ho for heat if not controlled will damage hair. Also wipe up spills etc if stain the counter it will come off with comet. There are so many really cool.pretty hair pins experiment for they are very in. Wish you happy days ahead.

Those shampoos do not darken, but they enhance your natural highlights. Instead, I suggest you use Loreal Color Pulse. It dyes your hair for about 2 weeks, and then washes out. So after you apply it, (it's like a foam) the color will stay for 2 weeks, and if you still like the way your hair looks darker, then you can permanently dye it somewhere else. Good Luck

I use john frieda. It's kind of like a shock of color added to your hair every time you use it (after shampooing and conditioning). I bought it at CVS in the dye isle.

Go to a Halloween shop, they might have some kind of washin/washout shampoo.
Or.
Go to the store and get LOVING CARE...it a TEMPORARY hair color...washes out in about 4 weeks.
OR
If you know how you'll look with DARK hair, then just go buy PERMANENT HAIR COLOR....
