I mean. If you want to be fair then you have to be fair. If that is the case then you shouldn't be allowed to kiss and touch your husband/fiancee/boyfriend in public. Around little children. Homosexuals are people too. They deserve the same rights as everybody. Now I'm not a homo. But I am a black man. And I remember not to long ago when I didn't have a lot of the rights that I do today. We are still trying to overcome certain obstacles. So why would we think it is okay to take away some of the rights as a human being of that of a homosexual?

It's totally evident by your question that you actually do have a problem with homosexuality.
Why should gays have to "behave" themselves around children when straight people are (presumably, according to your plan) able to kiss, hug, or hold hands as they see fit? Are you forgetting that a significant percentage of those children are going to grow up gay no matter what?
Listen, just saying that you don't have a problem with gays, or blacks, or atheists, or whichever group you claim to not have a "problem" with does not make it so. You should at least be open that you are prejudiced. Then we can really discuss what you're getting at.

"they shouldn't display affection around young children" - Are you sure you don't have a problem with homosexuality?
It's the belief that homosexuality will be the cause of the fall of mankind that make it harder on young children, not watching two people kiss and touch (casual touching - e.g., hugging, holding hands, etc.). It's not like they're having sex on park benches (at least no more often than heterosexuals).
Homosexuals aren't more likely to molest children and commit perverted crimes any more than heterosexuals. And children of homosexual couples aren't more likely to become homosexual themselves.

This generation of children have not been bred into a society with a stigma against homosexuality. Kissing, touching, affection is the same whatever the gender mix to a childs eye.
My parents would probably be shocked however.

Actually most children would not be bothered by the show of affection between any two people regardless of their sexual preference. Its only the adults around them who make comments about the homosexuals showing affection that brings it to their attention and makes them question it. What exactly are you trying to prove? That homosexuals scare you.

I think that no matter what your sexual orientation, it is inappropriate to behave sexually around kids. Affection is good for children to see, but you should not get carried away by making out and groping each other. Personally, I don't even want to see that. It makes me uncomfortable when people do stuff like that around me. Get a room.
I would prefer my children not have to hear anyone curse in front of them, either, but people don't seem to care how they behave in front of kids.

It would be amazing to me to learn that people in the American culture, who regularly expose children to violent themes and general bratty behavior on television, would find affection of any kind an objectionable thing in the presence of their children.

Do you think it is OK for heterosexuals to display affection around young children? If you do, then you are a hypocrite.

You obviously DO have a problem with it then. What is wrong with children seeing affection, and that there isn't anything to be ashamed of? You should teach them acceptance and tolerance of things that they will eventually see anyways, instead of hatred.

I think all partners/parents/boyfriend girlfriends, need to watch what they do in front of children. Anyone who doesn't feel weird when being stared at by children when your making out shouldn't be the main influences in their children's lives.
