Winnie the Pooh walking around the bush in the snow, trying to find who made the footprints. I reckon it sums up a lot of human behaviour. Comedy without insight may make one laugh, but great comedy amuses AND provokes reflection. It always enriches with new understanding - if you take the time to think. Great comedy makes it possible for us to look at complex ideas we would otherwise avoid. That's why humour stirs deeper thought than action movies etc. When it's more than just a mindless giggle.

Man it's tough to choose just one, so I will choose my most RECENT favorite:
Jim Gaffigan's satire of "Hot Pockets"
It's his favorite too: " I guess I would have to say my favorite joke in some ways has got to be the Hot Pockets joke because I feel like anyone who has ever eaten a Hot Pocket can identify." (Interview by by Mandy Stadtmiller, New York Post, July 2, 2006)
