Why is it that some people put more time into trying to prove that God doesn't exist then trying to prove that he does exist?

I think that people should believe what they want to believe and not waste time trying to make other people change their opinions. If you believe enough it doesn't matter what others around you think. But if you feel the need to waste so much time convincing others that your opinion is right, maybe it's a sign that you're insecure and your beliefs aren't as strong as you pretend they are.

Conclusion: people who believe in God have a strong enough belief that they don't feel such a need to thrust it upon others; they know that some people will never be persuaded and it's their loss.
People who try to prove God doesn't exist need to have support, to have others agree with them, to make them feel secure in their belief.

That's what I'm sayin'!!! It's like some people are just consumed with proving God doesn't exist! I don't even know why they try! It ain't like it can be done!! I mean He's a spirit & to believe takes faith, not eyesight!!! I think they're trying to ease their conscience because they know He does & they just don't want to have to answer to Him!! Romans chapter 1 verses 19-20 talk about them:

"For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God."

The rest of the chapter is a real picture of the world today. We just have to keep shining the light!

Much Love!!

Because in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam it is a sin to try and prove or disprove God's existence. It's all about faith, not knowlege. If you have faith, you shouldn't need proof. Besides, the whole idea is that God can't be proven or disproven. He is supposed to be a mystery.

Beacuse it is easier to Disprove faith than to prove it. But look at the world. You have to realzie that there is a God but you have to believe that there is a God. You have to have Faith. Plus if we could prove that there was a God then people would not have Faith in God they would just do it with the fact that they saw him or something like that.

I'm probably an agnostic, since I believe that God exists, but we can't really know much about him (it/her). So it is pointless to try to prove one way or the other. Either you believe in God or you don't. No mullah (Islamic or Christian) is going to be able to prove it to you or disprove it.

It's not that people spend more time trying to prove he doesn't exist. It's just that current scientific evidence, for better or for worse, does point to this.

You could say the same thing for the opposing side. I say, those people who are "searching" for something, any proof that God doesn't exist are the ones who really want something to believe in...some people do not have blind faith and need proof of some sort to believe...but, you shouldn't let it bother you...everyone is different and figures out a way to believe in something one way or another. : )

Because that is the way think. If you believe, then that is where your energies will be spent. Why are you asking this question? You have your answer (that suits your life), let the others have their own answer. Just because you have a religion (of whatever denomination it might be), does not mean everyone else must have one too.

because the unknown scares some people. People are all about facts, statistics, and proof. And what people really need to learn is how to let people believe what makes sense to them. No matter what you believe it's not fair to judge or criticize someone else.
