Try J&R Camera in NYC. They have a website, and you don't pay sales tax when you buy over the internet unless you live in NY. $120 will get you a pretty good camera these days, but you'll also need to buy a memory card too. I got a 1 gig card for only $35 - prices have dropped quite a bit in the last five years.

Kodak.com has some nice refurbished ones. They are usually around 100 dollars cheaper than the original. I recently bought a V530 and it looked brand new! You get the same warranty on it as a new one so you can rest assured that it isn't faulty.

You need to look and see what kind of camera u want and break it down from there. All the stores sell for about the same price.

I've had good experiences with Adorama.com and BeachCamera.com. I highly recommend reading the reviews at dpreview.com.
