There is nothing wrong with that. She would have a very special name. A special name for your special baby girl. You're mom would be flattered.

I think its a wonderful idea!! I was named after both of my grandmothers and my older sister's middle name is the same first name as my mother's first name.

When my granddaughter was born my daughter choose a female version of my father (her grandfathers) name for the baby's first name and my Mom's first name for her middle name. Thus Kendra Gayle was named a few short years ago.

If it feels right to you ... then its a wonderful idea!! Congratulations!!

I like that you and your fiance are thinking of naming your daughter after your moms. It is the ultimate in respect and admiration for your mom's legacy. Yes you can name your daughter after you mom and his mom. If his mom is alive she will be honored to be the namesake of her granddaughter. I hope the rest of your daughter's life you and your fiance will take as much care in making decisions for each of you as you are in naming her.
Good Luck

Thats not odd at all hun! I am named after both of my grandmothers, and no one ever thinks its odd. In fact, my sister is named after my grandfather, and my sister in laws are all named after various grandparents. Its very common I think! No worries there! Go ahead and choose the name for yourself....its a hard choice but exciting one. Congratulations on the new baby by the way. If you are having problems thinking of names, there are millions of them listed at babynames.com you can check them out. Its a great site. Good luck!

I think that is a nice idea as well. Almost all of my siblings gave my nieces' a variation of my mom's name as a middle name. I think it's great. Mom's are equally important as dads and deserved to be similarly recognized. I think its even more appropriate seeing as your mom has passed away.

If I ever have a daughter,I'm going to combine my mom's name with that of my best friend, and use another friend's name for the middle.I think,if you like the name,it's a good thing.Do what you feel is right. This might be your only chance.

Honor your mom and do it! What a tribute to someone you love! We gave our daughter both our mom's middle name (they both have the same middle name, we got lucky)
