I'm an atheist, but I think the answer is pretty simple, and I doubt that many will disagree with me: Clean up its act. It's as easy as that.

The Late Pope John Paul II founded World Youth Day in the mid 1980s.

Like the Olympics, this particular event is celebrated every 4 years in different parts of the world.

During World Youth Day, the Pope will go to a certain city, & young Catholic people from all over the world also come on a pilgrimage to celebrate their Holy Catholic Christian faith.

It keeps the faith strong in young Catholic people.

I agree with, dare I say it, wrathpuppet.

The Church should take a look at what is going on and "clean house" of the bad priests that are still around (and I am not talking of only the child molestors).

I don't think the Church should change Doctrine or Dogma to fit the cultural expectations the way many Protestant churches have.

Maybe, if they let priests get married. But that would be shrugging off the vow of celibacy. I know priests get slammed with abuse cases. You just don't hear about other ministers who are guilty of the same of not worse.
I have a feeling the Catholic Church will survive. All Christians should try, young and old. Before it is too late.

Ugh! Good question. I went to a Catholic seminary and Catholic grade school for a few years and I will tell you this: If I put all the good characteristics of all the priests I encountered into 1 mega-priest, he couldn't inspire me to cut my toenails.

They are generally: dull, introverted, un-inspiring, narcissistic, un-helpful, un-friendly, and basically bad leaders. The church has NEVER helped me with anything. The people gossip way too much, and the wealthier members seem to contol the school, athletic starters for teams, who gets choice roles in school plays, even directly manipulating the teachers to give their kids good grades.

Email me for more, but I think if they did the opposite of what I said, and acted like a family, it would be a great start.

for one, no more rape, and two, talk about things during sermons that not only catch the attention of the adults who are already bored, but also something they[young people] can relate to. its that simple.
