Following the teachings of Jesus Christ like, "Love your enemies."

I find it very hard to love the terrorists who flew airplanes into the World Trade Center.

With love in Christ.

I was christened Catholic when I was too young to think for myself and (apart from the whole non belief in god that I developed) I couldn't come to terms with the fact that I wasn't allowed to use contraception. Or that if I desired to be the head of the Catholic church they would never let me due to my gender. Or if I fell in love with another woman instead of a man, then I wouldn't be allowed to be with her. Oh and the absolute deal breaker, that I couldn't have sex before marriage, I wasn't gonna wait that long. Hence, I am now an atheist.

The gross misconceptions of our separated Brothers and Sisters of what being Catholic is.

I have heard so much hatred towards Catholics that it isn't even funny.

With the fullness of Faith and Grace given to us by Jesus through all of the seven sacraments, why more people wouldn't want to be a part of that.

Guilt. And for women, the unrealistic ideal that we are supposed to stand up to the PERFECT Virgin Mary... it's an impossible ideal, but women in the Catholic church are raised to believe if we are anything less, we are worthless... we are also raised to believe we are less important than men, and our only purpose in life is to marry and have kids (which puts us in that less-than-perfect situation where we CAN'T be perfect like Mary because we have to lose our virginity to become mothers, but to be like Mary, we MUST have children, it's a catch-22) We are made to feel bad for having independent thoughts and careers.

The conservative leadership of the Church. Since the leaders choose thier successors, there is no chance that new ideas can ever make it to the top.

Being unyeilding will cause the church to collapse in on itself. Maybe not tomorrow, but it is coming.

And of course Opus Dei will be standing there telling everyone it isn't happening.

Not become a judgmental person, fasting, slow to anger.. bla bla bla... but it's a blessed when you conquer all that.
I was born and raise as a catholic. It's not always an easy task. But I found my faith there and never want to let go.
