Yes, they allow it but you will be restricted in some positions. It would be best for you to talk to a recruiter. The military has changed a lot and adapted to some physical problems. Be advised, you must be able to wear glasses. If you are one of the rare people who can only wear contacts, you will not qualify for deployment and thus not quality for military service. Some restricted jobs include pilots.

Almost any military job can be held by someone who wears glasses. However, as the prescription on the glasses gets to a greater correction, more and more jobs are closed, because of the necessity of being able to operate at a minimum standard even if your glasses are broken or lost. Finally, there is a certain level of correction that is the maximum allowed for anyone in the military. If you require more than this correction to reach 20/20 vision, you will not be in the military. It is a strong prescription. Any recruiter can find out for you what the maximum allowable correction is.

There are several systems to improve rapidly and naturally vision.
To know how to do that you can discover here a compelte technique focused around researches done by some researcher, for a shabby price: ( http://improve-vision.kyma.info )
I can provide for you simply a few tips however I recommend to give a look to the technique that i posted above...for illustration you can take more sustenance that holds vitamin A, for example, carrots may help to naturally improve your vision. We can likewise dependably do exercises. There are exercises, for example, rolling your eyeball to form an undetectable square that are constantly recommended by the doctors to improve one's vision. I don't think about rapidly as there is no quick approach to reach one's objective. Vegetarians can help to improve one's vision. I accept it in light of the fact that I am a vegetarian and my eye short-sightedness power remains the same without any increase after around 2 years. The doctor was stunned in light of the fact that teenagers at my years will normally have a most increase since we are continually staring at the TV, playing computers furthermore reading. I don't know whether it is completely true or not yet it does influence a bit on the result. At any rate i propose to check the connection that I posted.

so long as your vision is correctable, you can join. There are actually very few specialties that require unaided 20/20 (fighter pilots and maybe some special forces-though you could be a pilot on most any other airframe as long as your vision is correctable). An interesting side note: The military will provide laser corrective eye surgery, but if you have it done on your own prior to joining or without approval, it could adversely affect your options.

My boyfriend was in the Army Signal Corps. When it came time to go through his annual training, he was one of the best shots in his battalion - he even has Rifle Marksmanship badges for it.
He was almost called to Iraq in 2003. He went for live fire training at Ft. Bliss until he was given a hardship discharge. And yes, if he'd been sent to Iraq he would've been right there in the action.
And he's REALLY farsighted.
I don't know about the elite teams, but I know he was allowed in the Army.

You can be in most positions, but Aircrew & special operations (who are also aircrew & jump qual) have standards. Pretty wide standards except for pilots though. Check Military.com for exact position requirements & ask detailed technical questions on the forum there.

My son had several people in his Ranger class that wore glasses. You can not wear your glasses during training, they give you ugly black framed glasses. My son has reading glasses but told them he did not need them. He did not want to wear the Army issue ones. He is a US Ranger now.
