Like all forms of hatred, racism is born of fear. Fear of something different, fear of not being excepted, fear from the pressure of guilt passed on from ancestors. We have come a long, long, long way in The United States when it comes to racism. People need to stop trying to think what someone of another race is thinking. That only leads to preconceived notions that are almost always wrong. Race should not be an issue at all. It is impossible to tell what a person is truly like by appearance alone. It goes both ways too. People are so positive that someone is racist, that they become defensive from the outset. The key is in education. Children need to be taught early about the various cultures that make up The United States. They need to become comfortable with something new, something different, and something they might be fearful. I believe through each successive generation, racism will dwindle to obscurity. Everyone needs to start today.

I believe racism is passed on by family members like traditions taken for granted.

People need to learn to look at the way they think. Change comes from self examination.

But unfortunately racism is a convenient excuse for not sharing the wealth, for hatred, for killing others because of the color of their skin. It gives some people purpose, makes them feel better than others and they will never give it up.

Until all races intermingle to the point of one skin color, or until the planet explodes from a nuclear war, racism will exist.

No one can stop racism. The people who choose to be racist are not going to change and will pass on their opinions/beliefs to other people to follow. The chain is inevitable. My family is racist, me and my older sister are the only people who are not racist the rest of my family is. They try passing it onto everyone in the family. The constitution gave people the right to speak their mind, and that is what people will always do.

A racist person would ask, "how can we make racism a major positive belief of everyone in America?" Same answer would go to them that you can't, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

How can we stop when the world is still fighting terrorist... I think it depends on 1 mindset. Some1 ever told me, if you are with a few of diff race of friend - speak in English or a language is understandable to all. How would a CAucasion feel or think if you speak across him in other languange which he does not understand. He might think you are talking bad about him.

Well, if we don't kill each other off first, eventually the whole human race will get so interbred that it won't mean anything anymore. If we do end up blowing ourselves away, maybe the cockroaches will end up hating other cockroaches with different coloring or antennae or something. Then they'll have to figure it out.

By reminding racists that racism is mean, thoughtless and even is it is thought through, it is not with a clear head.

More education, and knowledge. You know the funny thing is that when most of the people make a racits comment they don`t even know what the heck they are talking about..and oh yeah, be open minded too, it helps a lot.

Educate everyone who tries to use it as an excuse for problems. Ooooh...ahhhh...and start with the young cause older people tend not to get it...and probably won't cause that's not the way the world was when they played with rocks as a kid.

Set a good example to those around you by NOT being hateful, bigoted and by NOT using stereotypes or racist jokes or comments. It all starts with you, and you can influence others.
