We know nothing. No matter how hard we try, we will know nothing. The information that we have may be false...and it probably is false with all of the possibilities we have presented to us.

So why argue about religion? Either side (Athiest, Christian) may be correct, or they both may be wrong...there may be a whole new possibility of how we came to be we have not thought of yet, and it may still be false.

So why do we try to prove something that we think is right if we actually don't know if it is right or not? It's not very Zen.

Not all of us do. Some of us are more concerned with what we are doing and how it effects everyone around us while we are here, and aren't concerned about creating some kind of afterlife get out of jail free card. None of this is provable, that's why it's not called Science. Good Question!

Sorry, for being..off topic. There are things that we, as humans, can't explain but that doesn't mean these things are not true or don't exist.

I agree that it is ridiculous to argue about religion. However, there is a very good reason to be concerned about which is true. It has to do with HOPE. Athiests have no hope in the future, what is there after you die? That's why people have the attitude eat, drink, and be marry for tomorrow we may die. They have no one to answer to for any bad that they commit. If there is no God, they can pretty much do as they please.

On the other hand. If there is a God, as the Christians believe, then they are held in account for their actions. They must find out what God requires of them in order to receive his approval. And when they do, they recieve hope. Hope in the future. The Bible promises that 'the meek will inherit the Earth and reside forever upon it' (Psalms 37:11--the entire 37th Psalm talks about this). This promise is something that I can't keep a secret, I want to share it with those who are looking for hope.

"IF" I'm wrong, what is the worst that can happen to me from living a life that is based on Bible Principles? I live a happy life, free from disease and sorrow that comes from an immoral lifestyle, then I die, and I am just dead.

But "IF" I am right and what the Bible teaches it true, I have a wonderful future ahead of me. And those who haven't lived a Christian life... destruction.

To begin with he is dead.

Also evrything he said is all hearsay. he never wrote anything down.

Also, knowing nothing there is always the possibility that people have been right all along and you could just be wasting your time on some fools folly.

In other words, unless you are certain why not sit back and watch the show? Eventually, people will grow tired of fighting or kill one another, either way there is little you or I can do about it.

how do you know athiests and believers are wrong ?
each side is convinced they are right so its not a matter of debating what is not known, its a matter of convincing the other side who are wrong about something that is known and i'm sure socrates would have no problems with correcting someone

We all seek the answer and sometimes people decide on an answer because they can't face the unknown.
I believe that our human minds are not capable of understanding what ever the answer is.
Time, Space, God and the like are beyond our understanding and we will continue to question. It is our nature.

Because even Socrates debated and discussed in order to form, defend and/or adjust his point of view. You need to exercise your brain, otherwise you just accept what you are told
