i went thru this exact same situation a few years ago. though death is a very hard and difficult thing to cope with, the reality is that dealing with her estate can cause a lot of fighting and heartache as well. how long has she married to her current husband. if she has no will, i think that her estate goes to her husband, but if he's willing to work with you on something that is more fair, than i think her children definitely deserve a good share. i wish you the best, and i am so very sorry for your loss.

First of all my condolences....been there and it is a difficult time. (((((((hugs)))))).
You need to talk with social services at the hospital, a clergyman perhaps and consult with a lawyer. If you are a minor you must be provided for. I am sure that the legal system where you live has guidelines concerning her estate, you and her husband. There are agencies to help you through this horrible time. I know that the funeral people helped us a lot also. They told us what papers we had to sign, what agencies we needed to contact and what procedures we needed to take care of.
My thoughts are with you.

I'm very sad to hear this about your mom, I know that you are going through a very difficult time right now. You need to go to probate court, you will need to go there after you get your mom's death certificate wit her husband. But, people just can't come into her home and start taking her stuff because she has a husband. So make sure you get to probate. Again I am sorry.

Hey man, my heart really goes out to you on this, I'm so sorry. I would not want to be in your shoes at all. I think if it were me, before you have to shut down the machine, go talk to a lawyer.
I'm counting my blessing right now. I came home to take care of my parents as their health is failing them now. I'm watching my dad going down now with each passing day and I know that it is just a matter of time before he is gone.

I think you should ask yourself this question: Would either one of you want to be left alive by machines, not being able to feel any human emotions. I know this is a hard decision and my heart goes out to you and your family. But be assured that if she has accepted the Lord as her savior she will live forever with her King and Maker.
With deepest sympathy,
beautyinitsbest.

Is there much stuff to worry about? Is there just her husband and yourself? Are you on good terms? All those things should be considered. If you have any doubts on those....do call a lawyer----if you dont have much money, check into Legal Aide.

you'll have committed murder if you do so. just let her die if truly she is going to die but remember some people are witness cos they have been there before and come back to life after everyone gave up on them so be there for her even though you think she will die
